Campus Food

{{ error }}
2 College Junior

Campus Food: It's unlimited if you're on campus. That's great. However, Sodexo is not the best and there have been multiple times where the quality of the meals were sub-par. It's also very expensive.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The Sodexo togo is decent. Its nice to be able to grab a bite without going into the dining hall. The food is decent but repetitive, I wish there were more healthy and fresh options.

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: Same food almost every week. International line provides good options though.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Good: There are a decent amount of options, healthy and not healthy, and the dining hall is absolutely beautiful.

Bad: The meat tends to be questionable. I avoid it if at all possible. I mostly ate at the International and Sandwich station.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The dinning hall serves great food but tends to fluctuate through the weeks as to how much food they make. Some times they make alot and some times they make harderly anything. It also tends to get repetative but still good quality most of the time.

Champlain College's Dining Services is run by the Sodexo company. Each student living on campus is required to buy an unlimited meal plan, and students off campus have the option of buying a commuter plan with 40 meals per semester. There is only one dining hall at Champlain, and it is open from 7:15 a.m. to 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Meals are available in three-hour periods, and in between, the grill, sandwich, and salad bars are open. There is also always cereal, bagels, fruit, and other snacks. Students are not allowed to take food outside the café, though. The food prepared is usually really good, especially toward the beginning of each semester and during events on campus. Often Sodexo brings in local farms and food manufacturers for local dinner nights, the smoothie bar, and other specialties.

As part of Vermont's commitment to healthy, local, and organic foods, Sodexo's top priority is to cater to every dietary need—vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and other allergies. To buy individual meals, the dining hall costs about $6 for breakfast to $9 for dinner. Each student with a meal plan receives two guest swipes on his or her card per semester. The Champlain Dining Hall also has a Facebook page, where it posts meals for the day, and students leave their comments and suggestions. The dining hall tries its best to cater to these suggestions.
