4 College Freshman

Local Area: I really like Chadron. It's pathetically small, but the people are nice and the area is beautiful.

Administration: I've yet to have any kind of problem, personally, and I've only heard of one incident where the RD's had to get involved in an event. Drinking and altercations generally occur off campus.

Athletics: I don't personally partake, but these small-town Nebraskans get *crazy* about football (I keep being told about this team called the Corn Huskers; I mean, seriously?), and they have a habit of getting even the foreign students rabid about it.

Campus Food: Compared to my last school, the food here is amazing! The cafeteria is an all-you-can-eat buffet style with fresh ice cream every day. The Grill and the Coffee Shop in the library are not quite so giving, but provide a different set of options from the cafeteria.

Off-Campus Housing: It's a small town, so even though the housing costs are fantastic, it's mildly difficult to find a good place worth what some people want to charge. I would recommend checking the apartment complexs on the campus side of town.

Greek Life: I believe there is only the one sorority, and I've yet to hear about a fraternity. Either way, their presence is all but unfelt.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There are numerous dorms, most of which all being the same price. Depending on your personal desires (bathrooms, direction of windows, kitchen utilities) and availability, you can pretty much live wherever you want on campus; This excludes first-year college freshman (straight out of high school), who are restricted to a single dorm that doesn't lack for amenities. The people are diverse and, due to the atmosphere of the small town that the college resides in, most are very sociable, while still maintaining social constraints on personal space and the like. As for mid-term moving, I discovered that there was a room open in a dorm I wanted, and moved in the same day; That was... the day before yesterday, as I recall.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Chadron State College is small, therefore there is a small presents of Greek life.

5 College Junior

Administration: Chadron State College is a small family orientated college. It has a strict academic environment.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: There are computers available in each building for students to use. The wireless goes throughout the campus, though sometimes it is very slow.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: There is always something going on for students. There are plenty of student hangout spots with games. There are plenty of outdoor areas that students can also hangout at. The library is open early and late for all students and staff.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Our school is very involved with the community, we do a couple very large charity events. We also have a very diverse athletic population, but everyone shows their culture and it is amazing.

College Sophomore

Weather: The weather really does not matter. Our students tends to make the best out of everything.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Our campus security is a joke. They are nice to have but they really do not do much. We really do not have any issues with sexual assault to my knowledge.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I liked that all my friends were easily able to hang out. But I did not like the noise all the time. I also was over sharing a room, and living in the dorms was a little expensive compared to living off campus.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I live off campus and I love it. We did not have too much trouble getting a house. Right now there is a shortage of rentals available due to construction workers taking them. The prices are usually all reasonable and the landlords are all basically nice.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: A lot of students partake in drugs and alcohol.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Sometimes it is good, but sometimes it is a mystery.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Basically everyone is an athlete and almost all athletes get along. The non-athletes tend to fit right in, except for the occasional kid who prefers not to associate with the athletes.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: There are some things to do around town and there is a national forest that we can visit. Other than that it is a long drive to a city.

4 College Sophomore

Parking: No one really needs a car unless they live off of campus. There are plenty of parking spots, just sometimes you have to walk a little extra.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I do not prefer to go out and party. There is a lot of partying at my school so I suppose the rating is good.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: There are many options for financial aid, but they are not known throughout the campus. A person has to really look for an option and/or ask many professors.

College Sophomore

Transportation: Our campus is small enough that a student does not need a vehicle to get to class.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: If you are always loud and causing trouble they will be watching out for you and then you will get into more trouble, but if they know you and you are good and hardly ever in trouble they seem to be more lenient with you.
