Guys & Girls

{{ error }}
3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: The guys are, for the most part, pretty high quality here. A real-life seven is a ten here, but there aren't too many really funny-looking guys. Most are a little shy but very caring and smart. Guys have all different styles of dress, but it is is a slightly preppier-than-average campus.

Dating is weird here because it's such a small community. If you break up with somebody, chances are they will move in with all your best friends and be in all your classes. A lot of students also dismiss dating as too time-consuming. Others date very seriously, though, and it's said that 1 in 5 Centre grads end up with another Centre grad . . .

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Just like a stereotypical college, plenty of different ethnicies, looks, and sexual orientations.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The only problem with the guys and girls are that they like to gossip, and at such a small school it may be difficult to avoid that.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: don't really pay attention to guys on campus. But I'm pretty sure they are friendly.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Most of the guys at Centre are the same. You run into some that are very nice and friendly, however, majority are preppy and rude. They care more about partying and destroying property on the weekend than what the affects of their actions will be. Some of them do not seem to care about their grades either. I will say that most of the boys work hard at the grades they get during the week.

Everyone on campus will tell you that academics are why they chose to attend Centre, but don't let that convince you that Centre doesn't have its fair share of hotties. As far as models are concerned, those are few and far between, but there is a steady supply of genuine, smart, and attractive individuals. The guys, for the most part, dress well, smell nice, have a Southern gentlemen tradition that they take very seriously, are generous, wealthy, smart, and outgoing. The girls, while not all are prize-winning beauty queens, are smart, lady-like, take time to blow dry and curl their hair, are genuine, and perhaps the best quality about the ladies of Centre College is that they are almost all sincerely nice and concerned about everyone else on campus.

The guys and gals of Centre C function as a cohesive group that blends many different cliques almost seamlessly. Almost everyone on campus knows each other, and learning who is who, even for newcomers to Centre, is easily and rapidly done. Both the guys and girls are friendly and willing to make introductions, as well as new friends. Most people are reasonably attractive, but the real asset of the guys and girls is that their personal qualities better Centre students' reputations and the campus as a whole. Dating at Centre is fairly easy, as are having midnight trysts, but finding your lifelong mate tends to be more common.

Social Scene
Centre students are incredibly outgoing. Regardless of Greek affiliation, major, or club membership, almost everybody is friends with one another. You'll end up waving and talking to people you hardly know just because they are friendly and eager to get to know you. Centre is one of the easiest places to make friends.
Hookups or Relationships?
Both. There is a significant population of relationships, some of which got there from their Friday night hookup. Hookups really seem to center around the weekend and fraternity parties.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
As dorky as this sounds, class is a great place to meet the opposite sex, especially as a freshman, since you all have to take the same classes together. Getting together to study or to work on a project helps not only establish a friendship but also to score an invitation or a friend to party with on the weekends. Upperclassmen all know each other, and the start of the school year is an exciting time to meet the new students. The mugbook, a Centre publication that has everyone's picture and phone number, even the freshmen, is a great tool for remembering new names and faces. Freshmen, especially the girls, will find that they will have to do little more than show up to meet the upperclassmen. For guys, it can be a little more difficult, but they get invited to all the same parties as the girls and just have to show personality to get noticed.
Dress Code
Centre is a preppy school. Flip through the pages of the latest J.Crew, and you can find what most students are wearing, or wish they were wearing. A little imagination can help the budget-impaired. A selection of collared shirts-collar up of course-is a must for both sexes, and girls need some fake clunky pearls to hang out in. That said, Goodwill is a hotspot to shop for vintage T-shirts. On party nights, freshman and sophomore girls usually wear typical club gear, black pants and a hip top, while the female upperclassmen wear whatever they were wearing that day. Most guys wear jeans and a cool T-shirt out to the houses.
