Academic Flexibility: Classes are pretty flexible having day night and on line courses

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: So far my experience here has been wonderful. I would choose it again simply from my financial situation and I will have my degree in 2 years.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Most professors are friendly. The variety of classes is good, though I haven't looked into to much different. Class sizes are not too bad no more than 25 per class

3 College Sophomore

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: There is a wide variety of ethnic and religious students. 97% of the students are straight from high school, their is a very small percentage that are close to my age.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The educations so far is worth what I pay. My financial situation does make it tight which is why I am searching for grants. The financial aid personnel could be more informative and helpful in places to look for help, But I figured it out with out them.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: Havent gotten to this point yet

Academic Experience: Again cant say a lot I have classes on line. However that work load is a lot, but very manageable if you stay organized. The curriculum is not that great. There are to many issues with programs freezing.

Academic Experience: again. The people are very helpful.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I'm not too familiar with all the resources since most of my classes are on line right now, but the library is huge and very up to date. The people are extremely helpful.

Student Body: CVCC contains a large, diverse student body. All are friendly and kind, one can make a friend at any time.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: CVCC is a great, cheap, and small school. I recommend this school to anyone starting college. Typical workload for a college, curriculum is average, but there are not to many interning opportunities.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: Good Academics! There is free tutoring, helpful professors, and because of the school size one-on-one time is available all the time.

Student Body: The student body and Central VA Community College is engaging and competent. There are various clubs ranging from the Black Alliance club to Phi Theta Kapa to Campus Crusade for Christ. Students take advantage of the many group study areas.

Campus Resources: Central Va Community College is small but is able to offer a wide variety of student activity resources. The Library, located in Bedford Hall, is connected to a large database several local Universities and Colleges share. The main campus offers a soccer field and tennis and basketball courts. The campus also offers a exercise and weight room. The main campus recently renovated its student center. The center now includes a café, student study areas, and student interaction areas. The college offers a variety of student activities from clubs to humanity service projects to fun activities such as pumpkin carving contests.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Although the process of applying for and receiving financial aid can be intimidating, the result is satisfying. The employees in the financial aid office at Central Va Community College are engaging and helpful. They are competent and able to answer a large variety of questions associated with the financial aid process.

Overall Experience: Most of the professors at Central VA Community College are accessible, engaging, and display a firm grasp of the topics discussed in class. Many of them are willing to help and work with students who express a desire to learn and need help. Since the classes at CVCC are relatively small- ranging from nine to twenty-two students- professors are able to provide a more one-on-one approach to teaching. CVCC is comprised of several different campuses throughout central VA and offers a variety of career courses as well as required courses. Central VA Community College is an excellent choice for a starting point for any career.

Overall Experience: Although Central VA Community College only offers Associates degrees and Certificate programs, the school is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to start on a career path. Local and Nationwide Universities are willing to work with CVCC for students who want to transfer credits. CVCC is an accredited school and offers a variety of career classes. One unique feature of CVCC is their career resource website, a feature of Blackboard that counselors encourage students to use. The website features several career aptitude tests, a list of different careers and descriptions, and a variety of tools for students to engage with. Every few weeks, CVCC hosts different local and national businesses for career day. The business representatives are able to converse with students and share with them what makes their business special.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Wide variety, I am going for Nursing, and my husband is going for engineering. Everything can be done online, but if you need to go in to talk to the counselors or teachers they are all there on campus and alot of help.
