Career Services: I'm greatly appreciative that CVCC gave me my job in the Admissions Office. I've learned alot since I've been in this position and this job helped me make my career major.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: My classes are small and I'm able to speak with professors in a one on one setting if I need to. CVCC has connected me with other colleges to get the needed information to determine which one will best suit my career major.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: There is a diversity of students at CVCC and great to be around daily.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Coming to CVCC has helped me narrow down the field I want to major in for my JR & SR year of college.

Overall Experience: Great connection to four-year schools.

Academic Flexibility: The program is small. There are only so many professors and classes available. There are a few classes that I have to arrange everything around because it is the only option. I am a little upset that the only time I can take my anatomy class this semester is at 9:00 AM and the only chemistry class I need conflicts with that time. The credits were an easy switch though. I did have to take a few classes that were major requirements that I wouldn't have had to take in a different major. The only real issue I had with transferring credits was my previous college updating my transcript and sending it on time.

Online Courses: I have only had two online classes this far into my college career. I have enjoyed them though. Because everything was online and readily available, I could work at my own pace. A few times my professor did forget to make assignments available, but she recognized the issue and worked with us to make up that assignment.

Overall Experience: There are a few professors that have long outlived there use at the college despite their tenure, but there are some really great professors there too that actually care about the students. Currently the college is having difficulty with having programs too small for the level of interest. That leaves a lot of students not getting into the program they want. All of my classes this past semester were less than twenty except my anatomy and physiology one, but I never felt that a professor didn't know me or have time for me.

Overall Experience: There aren't many places to work on campus after graduating for this major. There is a handful in the gym and the rest are coaching positions. The alumni network is pretty great though. The professors keep there eyes on students throughout classes and interns and connect with each other and alumni to fit students in jobs after graduation.

Academic Experience: I'm majoring in Kinesiology. I love the topic and class work. When it comes to tests though, the professors try to make the questions as complicated as possible. Most of the medical related fields are done this way though. What I enjoy are the activities in class. Every week we either have a lab or perform some activity related to what we are learning. The workload is not bad at the moment, but I am not officially in my major yet. I have heard that the second year of the program is the hardest. Internships are incredibly easy to come by as well. Not only is there a gym on campus that accepts many interns every year, but there are also gyms and health facilities near Longwood that also see many student interns.

Overall Experience: I really enjoy the campus, professors, and students. I just wish the school was as interested in people like me who are good students but don't come from money as I was in it.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The knowledge of the counselors as far as what classes each student should take and what are actually needed is not the greatest. I have placed a few calls with Financial Aid and have never received calls back.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: This is my first year in college and have met some very nice staff so far but I feel like there needs to be more guidance for new students. Counselors seem to need a better understanding when trying to help students plan for their classes and make sure they are taking classes they actually need.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: When choosing your professors, do research. There are, inevitably, terrible teachers here. However, the good outweigh the bad ten-fold. This college will prepare you to move on to your next college, or will help you enter the workforce.

Overall Experience: So far my experience here has been wonderful. I would choose it again simply from my financial situation and I will have my degree in 2 years.
