3 College Sophomore

Technology: The computers at school are Dell. They are pretty good but certain dorms have slower access than in other locations. Each dorm has a computer lab with 2 or 3 computers. The library has about 20 computers to use. Each building itself has one or two computer labs with 10+computers. It is nice to have one's own laptop to use in the dorm in case labs are filled.

Students are encouraged to bring a computer with them to campus when they begin as freshmen. In fact, more than 80 percent of incoming students arrive with a computer. Many resources that you need for classes and communication within the College community are online. Plus, many academic programs require the use of online resources and computer programs.

There are six computer labs available to students in various locations across campus, and each residence hall has its own computer lab. The College provides a wireless Internet network that is available in many locations, and it also provides Ethernet connections for places where the wireless is not available. Students complain about some technical issues with the College's computers and the printers in the computer labs. Computers are often slow, and printers are often out of ink, paper, or both. However, Information Technology is a great resource on campus, and the office helps students with issues involving their own computers or those in the labs.
