4 College Freshman

Administration: Catawba has a very nice balance of how strict it is compared to where the students get liberties.

1 College Sophomore

Administration: I'm going to say that the Administration sucks. We had a meth lab on campus, a female employee cheated on her husband with multiple student athletes, and they fired the cheerleading coach without any reason. They honesty are just looking out for themselves and not the students.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Not getting into other dorms is dangerous.

3 College Junior

Administration: It's okay as long as you play by the rules.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Doesn't seem very strict, but the smaller classrooms do care a lot about attendance.

Campus strictness is not very fair here. There are tons of things you can get away with and tons more you can get away with if you are well-liked around campus. Your punishment can be different from the next student, even if you both did the same thing. Some RAs will write you up for underage drinking; others won't. It just depends on who you are, who catches you, and who is the one to dish out the punishment.

Facts & Statistics

Students Are Most Likely to Get Caught...
  • Drinking underage
  • Parking illegally
  • Playing drinking games
  • Violating noise regulations
Visitation Policies
There are certain hours that you can't have someone of the opposite sex in your room, but this is not enforced, so the rules truly are unimportant. You can also get into your own dorm 24/7, but your ID won't work on other dorms during visitation hours. This can be a hassle if you want to study with a friend before an exam and can't get into his or her building because the ID cards haven't been activated for the building yet, even though classes may have already started for the day.
