Academic Experience

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: I am pursuing to continue my education at University of Washington in Economics major.

Cascadia community college can help fulfill the pre-request credits before you transfer. Academic advisers are always there for help your educational career.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: It's relatively new college, so there aren't many classes. (They have all the major classes, but sometimes schedule conflicts, so only one class or two in a year)

They do offer study abroad programs held in Washington state. Many faculties have possessed their doctoral degrees as well.

Academic Experience: I am majoring in Elementary Education, however several of my classes haven't seemed very related to that major. They are just courses required as prerequisites, but haven't been very helpful for my interest in education. The workload is a lot more than high school, even though I take less credits/courses in college than I did in a semester at high school. The curriculum is not always related to what I think would be good knowledge for my major. Some professors like to give busy work that adds up to nothing, really. The facilities are okay. Cascadia has a very industrial-like atmosphere. And most all of the walls are just white, with cement pillars. Not much to look at; kind of drab, as far as color. There were no internship or job opportunities for me, because Cascadia only offers those to Work Study students (low income).

Academic Experience: The professors I have had have been good, for the most part. Some of them are very organized and make an real effort to help you whenever necessary. others have cancelled class almost once per week (out of only 2 days/week of class), or have offered little to no help with anything. The curriculum is okay. Not all that exciting at times, but very in depth at other times. Class registration is pretty simple, as long as you sign up in time for classes. You don't want to wait until the last minute or else you'll be wait listed.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I am working towards a liberal arts degree, with a focus on science. It is not a very specific degree, so I get to explore many different areas of study, and take some fun and especially interesting classes.
