5 College Student

Overall Experience: CN is the perfect place for me! Small class sizes and professors that care about their students as individuals make all the difference!

5 College Student

Overall Experience: Education majors are presented with lots of opportunities upon graduating that a degree from another school might not come with.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have known several people who were offered jobs before the graduated simply because they attended school here.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: There are always things, but I have always felt safe around campus.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The campus is wonderful, it is just a little bit expensive.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: I haven't been involved with any of the Greek life, but I have heard wonderful things about it.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: They look at each person who is applying - and if you don't have a great GPA, just talk to them and explain why, and they will work with you.

4 College Junior

Athletics: This is a great school for athletes, and more than just football. Soccer, baseball, swimming, and volleyball all are large parts of the campus.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: The professors are all very responsive to the needs of students. They're all passionate about their fields of study and eager to help students learn.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: I haven't had experience with this yet but will soon.

Health & Safety: I believe that every campus in America must strive harder every day to ensure a safe, healthy, and happy environment for college students. Unfortunately, many students get to college with little real knowledge of sex and many also have the wrong ideas about sex and assault. While there are the occasional poster or informational regarding sexual assault, there is still many myths about sexual assault that perpetuates a Christian based college education-the good/bad girl dicotomy. Sex education in the Bible Belt is a hard topic, UTs Sex Week has constant pressure against it.

I would also like to note that alcohol plays a small role in sexual assault regardless of what self-report data you are recieving. This also aids to the rape myths of being drunk and being assaulted. A college student can be assaulted at any time with or without someone coercing them through alcohol. Remember that the biggest player is sexual assault is not alcohol-it's a rapists decision to rape. I also find the question about what the girls are like on campus extremely offensive. Are there scholarships out there for "stuck up girls" or "party girls" as opposed to "religious girls", or is this question used to entice boys to go to one college versus the other?

5 College Senior

Campus Housing: Everyone loves their dorms, but not always their dorm mate. I still think it's a valid and important part of growing up and experiencing college life.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: I was able to register and tour the day before classes began since I was an almost too late transfer student my junior year. Everyone was knowledgable!

5 College Senior

Athletics: I am not personally involved in sports teams on campus, but everyone knows who is playing and who won after the fact. We all feel a sense of pride when one of our Eagles goes on to win big!

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Safety here is not a concern to anyone. Although, some nearby residents are sketchy, campus security is always on the patrol ensuring our protection as a school.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: For the most part, Carson Newman is my home now. Its a great school with some incredible people and professors. Although, there are some things i would change, nothing is perfect. I love it here.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Everyone talks about how prestigious a degree from here is and will be in the work force. I can't wait to graduate and see for myself how great it really is. Carson-Newman is a nationally ranked school in academics.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The housing here is okay. I think its time for them to upgrade from community showers. Some of the dorms are outdated, but still manageable. Dorm life is still really fun and great. Visiting hours need to be longer though.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Carson-Newman is a private school centered around our religious life. Our greek life is at a minimum.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Athletics is huge in the atmosphere here. Between football, basketball, softball, and baseball, students are always in attendance to events all throughout campus.
