Scholarships: I chose this school mostly by the scholarship offer. The financial aid office is very helpful.

Party Scene: No parties on campus, everyone goes home on weekends. But if you can find a few people to leave campus with you, its okay.

Campus Food: Everything will make you sick and it doesn't even taste good. How do you feel after eating dining hall food from here? My roommate describes it as sad, fat and pale. (no, she is not fat or pale, but the food is depressing)

Campus Housing: The buildings are old, except for the science building, and they are remodeling a building on campus. The dorm rooms are pretty big compared to many schools. The bathrooms are always clean. You can get from your dorm room to any building on campus within five minutes or less. The cost is kind of crazy, but the financial aid office does all that they can to help you out.

Campus Food: There are only two places to use your meal plan here. In a cafe on campus, and in the dining hall on campus. I wish we could use our meal plans at restaurants off and around campus as well. The food on campus is likely to make you sick about half the time. I have gotten sick from the food at both places on campus, but I keep eating there because I don't feel like paying out of pocket to eat at restaurants when I'm already paying about 2K for a meal plan.

Campus Housing: I go to a private, for-profit university, and I suppose considering that, housing costs aren't that bad. It's about 5K a semester. The dorms are traditional living style, with communal bathrooms/showers and whatnot. There are a handful of suites, but you have to apply and they're usually given to the seniors. But I mean, it's not BAD. I quite like living in the dorms. It's SO MUCH NICER than commuting, which I did last semester. I get more work done, and I have more friends now, and i feel more connected to the school. But it's a small school, so if here's drama with anyone, everyone knows about it, which can be really irritating because you can't escape it. The people can be really petty, so the social atmosphere could be better, but all things considered, it's not bad. The housing process isn't that complicated from what I've seen of it. Overall it's pretty nice, but it can really suck sometimes.

Party Scene: I love going to parties on weekends, great way to meet new people and to get away from the daily drag of life.

Campus Food: A lot of fried food and not a lot of variety, especially on the weekends.

Campus Housing: There is not a lot space to be yourself or chill. Everything is crammed together, with little to no spaces for actual privacy or studying. The food is not good and not a lot of things to do so 80% of the people leave on weekends

Off-Campus Housing: I personally do not live very close to the campus, but I have heard many great things about the off-campus living. Its close to the campus, clean, and has great people in the area.

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on Carlow's campus because there are a great amount of officers on campus, as well as the officers of the Oakland area of Pittsburgh.

5 College Sophomore

Administration: Carlow has a strictness, but it in no way limits or hinders the overall student experience. It actually helps the students focus on their schooling instead of partying and partaking in other insane activities.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Getting a degree from Carlow will not only get you further in your career, it will put you at the top of the list. All of my previous professors at Community College of Beaver County instilled in my head how great of a school Carlow was and were thrilled when they found out this was the college I was attending.

Athletics: Everyone at Carlow has great school spirit and it radiates throughout the entire campus.

Scholarships: Receiving financial aid at Carlow University was a breeze! Once I filled out my FAFSA and Carlow received the information, everything fell right into place. I received my award letter within one week of me scheduling my classes which gave me more than enough time to make any changes that were necessary before the Spring 2015 semester began.

Local Area: Oakland and Pittsburgh in general offers a HUGE variety of activities. There are a TON of things to do near campus and a variety of busses that go throughout the entire Pittsburgh area. You can get to anywhere. Also, there are a lot of small businesses and specialty shops.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Since I don't live there, I can't rate housing. However, the classrooms and buildings are excellent. You get the charm of older buildings, but everything has been updated with computer labs/technology/etc. They are also building a new library/student area.

4 College Freshman

Administration: I don't live in the dorms, but from what I hear from students who do, they are all very good. I don't know the exact policies on most of them, but I know that this campus is EXTREMELY SAFE (day or night) and the police are always friendly and ready to help. If you're looking for a school that is lenient with underage drinking and drugs, maybe you should reevaluate your choices.
