Overall Experience: My teachers really do work with students. Financial aid office doesn't seem to give too much of a run around.

Overall Experience: The teachers really know what they are talking about. They take their time to work with students to learn the information needed.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My school's tuition is really cheap. it is a community college so the costs arent terrible.

Campus Resources: The resources they have include a fitness center where you can exercise in between classes or whenever. And they try to have campus activities at least once a month.

Academic Flexibility: It is pretty flexible. They let you leave whenever and the class sizes are nice and family like.

Campus Resources: The fitness center at CSC is alright, it could be enlarged slightly because often most of the machines are being used at any given time, however, all the essential machines needed for a good workout are there. There is also a side room full of mirrors if you want to watch yourself exercise. The library at CSC has many computers, and the librarians are incredibly helpful and will help you with anything. The book selection is excellent, and the library also has several private rooms with a TV that can comfortably sit 8-10 people, allowing for larger study sessions. Campus activities are fun, especially with the numerous clubs that are at CSC, there is always something going on. My personal favorite is Fall Fest, where CSC has a rock climbing wall, music, free food, and all the clubs from the school are there trying to recruit members. The campus itself is gorgeous, and in the summer many people choose to sit outside and look over the lake.

Online Courses: I found what online courses I took to be incredibly easy yet informative. I personally discovered I learn very well through an online course, and this meant that the course to me seemed very easy but I know several students who have struggled with online courses. In the courses I have taken online, I found it easy to get into contact with my instructor and she would hold private Skype tutor sessions if a student wanted. I would have like it if there was an online class session however and not just a student expected to read the book and understand it. I often emailed my instructor because I was confused, but in the end I did well and enjoyed the course.

Student Body: The student body is mostly Caucasian, the second most common race being African-American, followed by Hispanic. These races blend and there is little to no separation of races, the student body for the most part is friendly. Most people are in a club, if not several clubs and are very involved in them. Most people seem to be on some sort of financial aid, or are on a scholarship for sports. Sports are huge at CSC and many people participate, our golf and basketball teams are phenomenal. By in large, everyone accepts everybody else, and there are no difficulties in communicating between genders, races, or religion.

Academic Experience: Being a community college, we don't declare majors but the counselors have made sure to place me in classes that will count towards my major once I transfer. I'm very close to receiving my Associates in Science and then I will pursue a double major in Business Administration and Computer Science. The workload is perfect, and allows me to stay busy and and achieve good grade as long as I do my best. There is an entire board full of local job opportunities that is always being update. The facilities are very modern, and Carl Sandburg has several computer labs supported by an amazing IT department that mends any problems very quickly.

Academic Experience: I have been completely shocked by the performance and professionalism of the instructors at CSC. All of them will do their best to accommodate every student, and it is obvious that they themselves love their job. I have learned an incredible amount due to the professors at Sandburg, and have actually formed bonds with them that I never had experienced with teachers in high school. The classes offered at Sandburg are perfect for my major, and allow me to make a great head-start towards my degree. The registration process is very simple, and all of the advisers, especially those at TRIO SSS, ensure that your credits are transferable if an individual wants education after Sandburg. The workload is manageable, however, similar to every school, if a student does not stay on top of his/her homework, it is easy to fall behind. The study options at Sandburg are amazing, Sandburg has a tutoring center where people can get individualized assistance with their classes. As well as the tutoring center, students can use the online tutoring provided along with the cost of tuition through Sandburg's website. Additionally, Sandburg has a application called Atomic Learning that is a knowledge base that students can use to study for their classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Sandburg is very cheap for the experience. All of the instructors are incredible and have mastered the teaching experience. I've always felt welcomed in the classroom and feel as though I can easily talk to my instructors about any questions I have. I've learned an incredible amount for what I've paid, and I am excited to continue my education. TRIO SSS has helped me every step of the way, including with applying and receiving financial aid.

Career Services: Sandburg offers easily transferable credits to most schools around the area. All of the advisors only place you in classes that the credits will be accepted to the colleges you plan to attend in the future. I've had absolutely no problems transferring my credits and couldn't enjoy Sandburg more. The career center is great and there is a job availability board that is always full of local jobs. Sandburg also gives out Alumni awards annually, one to an older alumni and one to a recent alumni.

Academic Flexibility: I personally am a member of TRIO SSS, a program that focuses on first-generation students and helping them select appropriate classes and graduate within 2 years. The program is phenomenal and has allowed me to excel at Sandburg and broaden my horizons. I have heard from many people that are NOT in TRIO SSS that all of the counselors at Sandburg are incredible and treat each individual case uniquely. I have had no problems finding classes that work along with my work schedule.

Academic Experience: We are separate from the main campus. It's quiet and I like it.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: There are a lot of different programs to choose from.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I don't qualify for financial aid. I really need it though.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: They help people find jobs and do internships. They are very helpful, so people want to go there.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I don't really have any flexibility with my classes.

Online Courses: I really like online courses because they they allow me to be comfortable at my home while I do work. I am able to get things done when it works best for me. I just don;t really like using the computer a lot because I am not very good with computers. Also, online courses can be kind of confusing.

Student Body: The student body at my school has variety of different groups. I sometimes see athletes be with other athletes, drama club kids be with other drama club kids, students with the same majors hanging out. Most of the students I have seen at Sandburg range up to 25 years old so it's hard to be involved being with kids my age unless we have same classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Since I live at home, I haven't had as much trouble worrying about money and tuition at Sandburg is not expensive at all. I enjoy being able to know that all the time for studying that I have is well worth the thousands of dollars I'm willing to spend each year. I want to be able to go through my years at Sandburg determined to have a good education which will get me transferred to a four-year university.

Online Courses: The work has been a big difference to me since I have begun college. The teachers really do know the material of the subject and they always expect us students to ask questions to show interest in passing the class. My teachers have different ways of communicating to the students and have different ways of teaching but I've learned from them a great deal.

Campus Resources: I believe Carl Sandburg College has been a good place for me so far. Everywhere I go there is always a friendly face whether it be a student, faculty member, or campus worker. I feel that coming here has given me the opportunity to reach out and explore what might seem interesting to me.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: It was straightforward. I was able to do all of my paperwork without any complications.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I haven't used any yet. But I hear that it can help people find jobs and transfer to other schools to pursue a higher degree.
