4 College Junior

Campus Food: It got better the past few years.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: It's alright if you have nothing else to eat. It's campus food.

1 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is TERRIBLE. I play D1 athletics, still gained weight. Salad bar= nonexistent. Veggies= pure butter. Not worth 3,000. Makes me outraged.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is pretty good but there are very limited options.

3 College Senior

Campus Food: It's campus food. It's no better or worse than other schools, I think. If you don't like it, you can always cook in your dorm.

Campus dining at Canisius is not the best. Food selection mostly involves some sort of cheese, grease, pasta, or sauce. There is always a salad bar, but that's about where the exotic supply of "vegetables" ends. Fruit is also hard to find. There are little pre-made snack cups with sliced fruit, raw vegetables, and the like, but it is annoying not to have any good, solid meals that represent more than one or two food groups.

Meal plans can have varying amounts of meal "blocks" and "Griff Bucks," which can be spent on mostly anything: Tim Hortons, vending machines, snack bars, and coverage if your meal exceeds a "block." Typical meal plan cost ranges from $3,000 to $4,000 per year. Subway is a recent addition to campus, which opens up some slightly healthier options. Subway is not affiliated with meal plans, though, meaning you need cash, credit, or debit to buy its food instead of your ID card.

Special Options
Being a small school, Canisius does not offer many official special dining options. There is a new "Terra Ve" vegetarian program, though. Other than that, a student with dietary restrictions (kosher, halal, etc.) is very much on his or her own to determine what to eat and what not to eat.
