3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are many ads on Craigslist for off-campus roommates, but I have never had to deal with this and would not know what it is like.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: New apartments have been built near Palomar College, which is close to CSUSM. Students who cannot afford the dorms tend to live either at these apartments or at apartments elsewhere.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is easy to find if one checks their campus email on daily basis for apartment availiability.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: A few of my friends live off campus and they live about 20 minutes away because it is so hard to find anything close to campus. I could not imagine driving everyday.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The same as most other colleges

Off-campus housing is located throughout the beautiful surrounding communities of North San Diego. Most students live off campus, and CSUSM is known as a "commuter school," in which most students walk, bike, drive, carpool, or take the train/bus/Sprinter to school.

There are many beautiful small homes, condos, and apartments in the surrounding area for students at decent prices. Living with a roommate is always helpful for students looking to lower costs.
