Off-Campus Housing: The closer to campus the more expensive it is but there are still a few places that you can find for a decent price close by.

Off-Campus Dining: Theres a lot of options but not very many late night things

3 College Sophomore

Administration: They are trying to keep the students safe but at the same time are not very understanding that we are in college and for a lot of the people its their first time away from home so they get a little crazy.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: It really depends on the type of person you are but if you want to go out to parties you will find one. Most of them get shut down though because people can't control themselves

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Just make sure to fill out your FAFSA. There are a few scholarship opportunities but you really need to look for them.

Campus Food: The availability of food is alright but the quality is horrible. Sutter is not the best place to eat but you can find somethings that seem alright. Marketplace is the best food on campus but if you dont have flex cash then it is kind of expensive.

Campus Housing: Depending on where you live it varies but if you are planning on living in the dorms make sure you pick a roommate. I got paired with someone nothing like me even though they have us fill out a survey of what we like and want. I have multiple friends who had the same experience and it makes the whole school year very stressful.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I have not lived off campus yet so I would not know.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a great deal of off campus spots to eat. There is Madison Bear Garden, Pluto's, Frankie's pizza, Tres Hombres, Jack in the Box, and an assortment of other decent food places all within a mile radius of the campus. There are a plethora of options, however there are not a great deal of student discounts.

Administration: The administration does a fairly decent job of keeping students in line. The dorms give students a 2 strike policy, if you violate noise or drinking rules 2 times you will be kicked out of the dorms. However, if one is smoking marijuana or using any other type of drug they will be kicked out immediately. Also, there are always cops around the school and all campus housing which creates a fairly safe environment for students.

Party Scene: The party scene here at Chico State is great. There are plenty of parties almost every weekend, although the police happen to shut them down quite a bit. The best parties take place in the downtown area, and plenty of students go out every weekend. The only negative about the party scene out here is that many students become obsessed with it and it affects their education, their social lives, and this most likely will affect them later in life.

College Freshman

Scholarships: I did not apply for financial aid or scholarships this year.

Campus Food: The best place to eat on campus is the Marketplace. Right next to the BMU, the Marketplace offers an assortment of stations which serves food ranging from sushi, to burgers, to pizza, to chinese food, to tacos. Freshman can use their flex cash here, as well as at Butte Station and Common Grounds. Butte Station offers snacks such as chips, hot dogs, and candy, as well as drinks. The Common Grounds offer coffee as well as different snacks as well. All of these places are better than Sutter Dining Hall, which is where freshman will eat the majority of the time. The Dining Hall is not terrible, and in the first couple of weeks one will enjoy the food. However it becomes repetitive after a while and it seems as if the employees put less pride into their work. Overall though, Chico offers a decent amount of options for incoming students.

Campus Housing: I live in University Village which is almost a mile off of campus but is still considered a "dorm." This is by far the worst option because there is no sense of community in these dorms, however there is a kitchen and if you are lucky you'll get your own room.

Off-Campus Dining: What you'd expect in any college town. I'm from So Cal so I'm not a fan of their Mexican food, but it's not a big issue.

Administration: A bunch of parents sent their children to Chico State this year and they won't be returning home for the summer. Why? Because they're dead. If Resident Advisors and Campus Police did more to prevent ON-CAMPUS drug and alcohol abuse, this wouldn't happen. But here we are. Thanks Chico State.

Party Scene: I hate partying so much. If you love partying, come here and ruin our school's reputation along with the rest of these idiots. My idea of a good time doesn't include drinking until you're sick, sexual harassment, and death. But that's just me. Apparently some kids love it.

College Freshman

Scholarships: I did not receive financial aid.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Could definitely be better. I'm not very picky, but sometimes the hours can be difficult to work with. Also, no dining accommodations for North Campus housing and University Village.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Average rooms. Loud people. RA's don't care enough that kids are illegally abusing drugs and alcohol in their own buildings. Chico State says they are a "dry" campus, but that is simply not true.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Apartment hunting takes time but small town prices are totally worth it.

Off-Campus Dining: The food around downtown gives you very many options. It's a little pricy but very good

3 College Sophomore

Administration: They don't want any kids to die so they're very strict on trying to protect people from things like drugs and alcohol

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Be careful and travel in small groups

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I get most of my financial aid covered and it was a lengthy process at first but now financial aid distribution is a breeze
