Guys & Girls: Everyone has to be smart to get in.

Guys & Girls: Lots of attractive guys. Being gay, I can say there aren't too many gay ones, but its a great school for heterosexuals!

Guys & Girls: A lot of the students here are very attractive and/or fit, thanks to the gym. A lot of people are socially connected through sports, clubs, or work and are generally well-connected. Most can balance between being social and having strong academics.

Guys & Girls: Everyone here is very very friendly and nice. It's hard to catagorize how people look and dress, but I'd say it's pretty average and nothing out of the ordinary.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Everyone seems to be physically active, which makes sense since campus is built upon a hill and there are so many hiking and outdoor related activities. I like that it is more casual and laid back since that is also more my style.

Cal Poly has a generally attractive student body, no matter who you ask. This is directly affected by the fact that many students spend so much time being active. Most people put their time in at the gym to look good, and it pays off. Cal Poly students generally eat well (many buy lots of produce at the weekly farmers' market) and generally take care of themselves. There are definitely different types of people here, from artists to skaters and everything in between. It's not hard to find someone worthwhile—or at least worth looking at.

Warm weather means that lots of skin is on display; shorts and a tank top are the norm for both genders. People don't generally get too dressed up to go to class—it's not uncommon to see people in their gym clothes or leggings. More important than the aesthetic appeal of the guys and girls is their personalities. Cal Poly students are driven, funny, and generally well-rounded. They work hard and play hard, which makes for an overall fun and successful student body.

Social Scene
Finding a group to fit in with at Cal Poly is not a problem. There is a place for anyone, since Cal Poly has a large variety of different social scenes. Joining a club guarantees activity. You can choose to hang out with people from a similar major, an interest group, or cultural background.
Hookups or Relationships?
Either one is available if you want them to be. There are plenty of single guys and girls, and most of them are looking for a significant other. How long or how deep that relationship turns out to be really depends on the individuals involved.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
The best place is definitely in an interest club on campus. Study groups are also a nice way to go. Lots of students meet people in classes or after hours at dance clubs or bars.
Dress Code
Wear whatever you want. The usual in warm weather is flip-flops and shorts, but otherwise anything goes. Honestly, no one cares. This isn't high school anymore. You'll see people walking around in pajamas for early morning classes.
