In a quiet, quaint community like Thousand Oaks, CLU students often find ways to create their own entertainment in a town that closes up shop early and leaves little to explore for the active college students. Students often hit up attractions that do stay open late, like Muvico Theaters, The Oaks mall, and Janss Marketplace. Here, students can catch the latest movie, chow down on Red Robin’s bottomless fries, or browse around Janss’ boutiques. On any weekend night, you’ll regularly see CLU students out on dates or with friends, enjoying their break away from campus and its loads of coursework.
But when these areas aren’t enough for those who like to go out and party, cities like Los Angeles and Santa Barbara become prime destinations for fun. During weekends, students take the hour or so drive to UCLA, USC, and UCSB to meet up with old high school friends and experience the chaotic nightlife of the Greek system. Others take a different route and opt for dancing until the early hours of the morning at one of Hollywood’s infinite nightclubs. Whatever the site or attraction may be, CLU students stick together in finding the latest hot spots in local or nearby locations.
