Technology: There are a lot of computers labs available but bringing your own laptop is much needed.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Some resident assistants are very strict about drinking, drugs, noise level, and visitation in dorms, while others don't follow the rules as closely. It usually just depends which dorm you live in.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: There isn't a form of transportation on campus, that I know of. The campus is small so it's not needed.

3 College Freshman

Academics: I'm still undecided so I can;t really say much on the topic of my major.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Being such a small school, the professors are able to get to know their students. The classroom environment is very intimate and engaging. Class sizes average about 20-30 students. The professors seem to care about their students and offer a good amount of office hours for students who may need the extra help.

4 College Freshman

Majors: There are a ton of majors to choose from at this school, i'm still undecided so I can't say much about them.

3 College Freshman

Parking: The fee is reasonable but it is difficult to find spots sometimes. Also, a lot of tickets are given out if a student doesn't have the correct parking pass.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: The athletic facilities are great here, they are only three years old and they offer great facilities for athletes and non athletes. Also the trainers are great!

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: There is a great study abroad program. You can choose to participate in a semester at sea or a semester in a different country.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Campus security gives out a lot of parking tickets

4 College Freshman

Weather: Its SoCal so the weather is the best part.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: over 30% of the population consists of athletes!

Party Scene: There are parties, but they are usually small and held by difference sports houses, for example basketball or volleyball. The houses are small which makes getting in somewhat difficult, unless you're part of the team. In the parties it's hard to walk because of how many people are in such a small space.

Campus Housing: Housing is great! You basically get upgraded throughout the years and it is much more convenient to live on campus than commute.

4 College Junior

Weather: Being in SoCal, we have great weather. Lots of sunshine all year round!

5 College Junior

Campus Quality: We just got a new stadium, gym and pool within the past 5 years, so we have a great sports program! Everything is very convenient and due to the size of the school there is generally always space at sporting events.

5 College Junior

Campus Quality: We have one of the best Student Life groups I have seen on any campus. Every incoming student is linked with at least one upperclassmen student who will help them transition into CLU. We also have so many different ways to get involved, and if there is nothing you are interested in, you can create your own clubs!

3 College Junior

Transportation: You can make it by without a car, as long as you have a friend with one! There is a lot of driving, but if you cannot bring your car, just makes friends with someone who has one.

Drug Safety: While our campus is dry and has a very strict policy against drugs, if you know where to look you can find them. However, if you are not into that, there is no pressure to be. Everyone at CLU is very accepting and there is not a loot of peer pressure going on

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Our Campus Safety is the best! They are always around, but never in your face without good reason. Our Health Services is also great! They try to keep prices cheap but still do everything they can for you.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: Since the University is dry, and in the middle of a community, you do have to drive to go get a drink. There are not many good nightclubs, but on the weekends most people will just drive to LA.

4 College Junior

Administration: The campus is very strict, but they make that very clear when you are coming in. This is a Lutheran University, so there are standards that need to be met across the board. They are not rude about anything, but just know and understand that this is a dry campus and they intend to keep it that way.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: It is so easy to get involved and feel a sense of community on campus. The professors also go out of their way to meet with you and make sure that you are succeeding in their class.

5 College Freshman

Parking: In parking they are very reasonable and it's free, you can never go wrong with free!

4 College Freshman

Diversity: The school is very diverse.

Located in the heart of the beautiful, secure town of Thousand Oaks, CLU is an ideal university for those who enjoy a tight-knit community that focuses on academics, diversity, and social connections. The small student population offers students more occasions to bond with fellow Kingsmen and Regals, and to connect with professors who actually know them as individuals, not just as numbers. The semester system enables students to delve into courses of their interest, and the time spent on academic studies helps students discover what they would like to do after their CLU years. With more than 35 majors and 35 minors, and a mix and match of doubling up on both, students are bound to find their perfect area of study. CLU’s close, intimate environment provides students with what other large, public schools can’t: countless opportunities to shine academically and socially, and stand out as individuals without the pressure and competition of a large student body. Clubs, organizations, academic departments, and residence halls are just some of the places in which students can become involved, contribute to their school and local communities, and bond with other students, faculty, and staff.

To briefly break away from the hectic class schedules and loads of coursework, campus events, like Club Lu, afford students with musical-, sports-, art-, and food-related events. From sports games at Dodger Stadium to catching a comedy flick in Kingsmen Park, CLU events bring students together for a night of fun. At any of these events, in class, at the caf, or just hanging out in the dorms, it’s not difficult to see the diversity of students. Coming from a variety of social, economic, ethnic, and political backgrounds, CLU students bring a great understanding and appreciation for other cultures on campus.
