Health & Safety

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I always feel super safe on campus. For freshmen and transfer orientation, they require a class on campus safety procedures and information. The mandatory class goes over what to do in the event of sexual assault, preventative measures, looking out for friends, among other safety things. No serious crimes have ever been an issue on campus. Honestly, the biggest thing that ever happens is small thefts due to people leaving things unattended outside for extended periods of time, but I think that's something that could happen anywhere. People tend not to care about locking their skateboards and leave them literally everywhere, but for the most part it's not such a huge issue that people don't feel safe leaving stuff around. Obviously if they didn't, I think they'd stop.

CBU Safety Services does a really great job of looking out for students and student workers, along with dealing with any situation that might come up. They're always patrolling on carts or bikes and they respond pretty quickly when things come up. They're all well trained, and super nice. They appreciate when you wave to them.
