4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The school does very well in protecting its students

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are many apartments and town homes to rent within a few miles from the school. The prices are reasonable. The landlords are considerate and understanding of any circumstances that come about.

5 College Junior

Technology: There are multiple computer labs. The computer labs have access to the internet and they also are able to print from those locations.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: I think the dinning hall has a good selection of different foods and is of good quality.

4 College Junior

Diversity: I believe the school is very diverse and represents people of many different races and cultures.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports here at CBU are a big deal! Every time for a home game, we show up in "CBU Crazies" t-shirts and root crazily for CBU Lancers.

4 College Freshman

Academics: They are great but since I took many AP classes in High School, the academics at CBU can be very easy and I don't feel like I am challenged enough.

Transportation: There are many ways to get around California Baptist University. First is public transportation; students are able to ride the bus for free at anytime they want, all they need is their Student ID card in order to aboard the bus. Second is their own transportation; students are able to drive their vehicle around campus, they must make sure that their vehicle is register with the school to receive a parking permit.

Local Area: California Baptist University is located in a small rural area in Riverside. It's a great community and filled with so much activities for students on campus. CBU is known as a Christian University, but not everyone on campus is a Christian. However, students do consider of making a choice to follow Christ and accept Him for the first time in their lives. I enjoy my time at CBU, it's an amazing place to meet new friends and learn more about myself as well. I also continue to grow my relationship with Christ a lot stronger. California Baptist University is definitely an awesome place. Most importantly, it's where you can live your purpose.

Party Scene: There are definitely some fun events here... there are the basketball events, concerts sometimes, other events, etc... they usually have posters or table flyers on the cafeteria tables when they come up.

Local Area: Our school is very safe... it feels very nice and pristine on campus and it's a good school, BUT outside of our school is not so pristine or safe, especially if you have to use the buses to get around; The best part of our school is in our school.

Campus Quality: WE NEED BIGGER: As stated before... major facilities are very-very small and not arranged well for efficient space (the library / the cafeteria); These specific facilities were meant to meant to house thousands of students, but it's not designed that way.
OTHER BUILDINGS: We have other facilities that are amazing: Design Room (Design Equipment) / Specific Buildings (Business building / Music Building / the New Gymnasium), but they neglected rebuilding the (Library / Cafeteria), which is much more important to invest: Every student needs the Library & every student needs the Cafeteria & on a frequent - daily basis... They need to get bigger.

Campus Quality: CONS~There aren't many cons but there are a few...
OUR SCHOOL IS SMALL (Growing, but still small): Our classes seem very compacted together (we're running out of room), and unfortunately, the most claustrophobic places at our school are major facilities (the "Library" & the "School Cafeteria"), which are meant to house thousands of students at once, but it's not built to do that.
My personal suggestion: is to break off the top half of both facilities, and build at least 3 floors, while changing the (table / seating) arrangement inside to be more efficient & fit more. This is so important to do.
PROS~CAFETERIA: Though our Cafeteria is small, the food is really good ~ It's almost like an open buffet: In the center, there's a (fruit / salad bar), and about 4-5 different main dishes areas, where students can choose to each whatever they like; Also, there's a small (dessert display / "make your own waffle" table). If students don't want to eat at the cafeteria, they can use their swipes at (Briscoes (Our school's sandwich cafe) / Subway).
SCHOOL GYM: Our school just built a new gym (which looks very pristine and nice); I haven't gone yet, but I talked to the front desk, and they said students can go and (work out / take exercise classes) for free... pretty nice.
DESIGN ROOMS: (This is specific only to "Film Studies" & "Design Majors") All Design & Film Students are allowed to use the Design Rooms to finish projects (5PM -10PM (M-F), which is convenient, because most students don't own all the Adobe Programs; and they can also rent out equipment for classes.
SAFE: Our campus environment is pretty safe and clean (there are security guards driving around (even at night), and we have the blue polls to call from, so it feels safe), and even though it's really small, its a pretty looking campus (but outside of our campus, its not safe; you have to be inside of campus to be safe).

Parking: Parking at California Baptist University is very easy to find and the price for a parking permit is free.

5 College Freshman

Technology: The computer labs at California baptist University are not crowded and have a lot of room. You are able to print if you need to, and the cost is very cheap.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Living on campus is almost the same as living off campus, we have the same amount of fun and have great times. the only difference is cost is decreased and you get monthly massages that i am very jealous of.

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Everyone here is Outgoing. They love to be friendly and help at the same time. Others feel safe and you make friends easily.

College Freshman

Greek Life: Our campus does not have sororities and fraternities. I like this because there are no huge cliques on campus and people feel like they can belong anywhere.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I think the dorms are a wonderful place to live. The atmosphere is nice and the dorms are clean and safe. However, I feel like the spaciousness of the dorms can be increased. I also feel like the dorms are so far away from the classes which makes it hard.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Campus security is wonderful. They are always seen and available if anyone needs help. The blue light phones are always in sight and always lit up. Golf carts are always around campus, especially once the sun goes down, making sure students who need to be escorted are safe.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The classes are generally not too large and the professors do take the time to get to know you if you also take the time. They all know what they are teaching and so far, the vast majority of my class times have been enjoyable.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Student involvement is a huge part of the school's athletics. The school itself does a great job with getting the students involved by announcing the games, providing the facilities, and even hiring the "crazies" a group of students whose job it is to lead cheers and get everyone pumped during the games.

5 College Senior

Majors: i am a psychology major. there are many internships posted on campus that i would take advantage of if i were not employed full time. i have heard from fellow students how beneficial the internships were to them. the psychology program is amazing. it is comprehensive and deals with the core curriculum and its relationship to the real world. the professors are very accessible and will take the time to work with each student.

5 College Senior

Majors: i have done a couple of internships and i think they are an amazing opportunity to make certain that you are headed in the right direction. certain professions look different than they actually are and there is nothing like working alongside someone in the field and working with some of the work to decide if this is the right career path and if your are majoring in the right thing.

5 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: CBU has an awesome dining place on campus. It offers a variety of foods for all tastes.
