5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Not only are the academics great, but the student body is also great! Drugs and alcohol are practically absent from the campus and you are able to make great friends and have fun without having to get into trouble. You are required to go to chapel, but compared to other Christian universities, it is not a hassle because you only have to go once a week.

Campus Quality: The school is constantly having fun events; the intramural sports have awesome championships, during finals week they always give you great ways to escape your studying for a few hours, there are weeks full of activities every day. There is pretty much always something to keep you busy. We have an awesome rec center with gym equipment to keep exercise fun. Student life is my favorite aspect of CBU.

Academics: The professors are what make this school so great! It is a small classroom environment, and most of your professors know you by name. They are easy to get in contact with and are always helpful. Some classes are extremely difficult and some are easier just like other universities; you do need to put in effort to get the grades that you want.

Academics: I know that as a Pre-nursing student, the workload was often more than I thought I could handle, but I made it through with flying colors because I made school my highest priority. I completed the prerequisites in one year, so it is possible if you try hard enough!

Local Area: Riverside is just another big city. It is nice to be close to the beach, Disneyland, and the mountains. The air quality grosses me out though.

Campus Housing: I love living on campus for the social aspect of it. The food is also amazing! Living on campus gives you more opportunities to make close relationships with people and get involved in campus activities.

Scholarships: My freshman year I was able to get great grants and scholarships, but now as I'm going into my sophomore year, they cut back on my grants and I am having a harder time finding scholarships.

Diversity: Cal Baptist is stereotyped as being all white, rich kids. However, this is not the case. Many students are on scholarships and loans in order to go there, and the population is also fairly diverse. CBU has an affiliation with Rwanda, so we have quite a few international students living on campus. If you want a diverse friend group, it is not hard to find.

Majors: I was just recently accepted into the nursing program, so previously my major was Pre-nursing. All of the professors were so helpful whenever you had a question and the school is small enough to where you know a lot of people in your major. Friendly competitions between the students is a great way to have some extra motivation!

Administration: Going to a Christian university means that there will be rules. They enforce the rules well and I think that they are appropriate. We have an alcohol and drug free campus. There is a dress code, and visitation hours are limited. This is all for our safety and morals and if you follow the rules, you won't get in trouble.
