Scholarships: My experience was good since everything was accepted pretty fast but the only aid I have received from the school is not much compared to the aid I received in my last University. I think CBU should offer also more aid to people with financial need without just basing it on their GPA.

Local Area: There are many parks nearby and school provides many activities for us. The area is safe and shopping is available really close since we have the tyler mall and riverside plaza less than 20 min away. Local attitude toward students is really good also.

Party Scene: All parties in the school take a positive impact on the students since theres no alcoholic drinks in the school and the fun comes from positive good things.

Diversity: It is a very conservative Christian school, but there are plenty of non-christians. There is a pretty good mix of people who have different beliefs than the majority, but no one is persecuted and everyone co-exists pretty well. There are a lot of international students and people form various backgrounds. Everyone is welcome.

Guys & Girls: Everyone is super friendly and kind. You can talk to anyone and can really make a lot of friends easily.

Overall Experience: CBU is a great school for personal, social, academic, and spiritual growth. It makes us into better people. CBU is focused on bettering the world through its students and proclaiming the word of God. CBU is a place where you can say hi to just about anyone and strike up a full conversation with them. Everyone is kind, caring, and helpful. I have not met one single unfriendly person in my time at CBU.

Off-Campus Dining: There is a food everywhere. We are about 5 minutes away from the mall so there is so much food around.

Campus Food: The food at CBU is AMAZING. It changes from day to day so we are not stuck with the same things day after day. In addition they are willing and helpful in trying to accommodate different eating habits and needs. Food is one of the top five reasons people should come to CBU. It's worth it.

Local Area: Riverside is a city but it is very college oriented with five schools in the city, there is a lot for a college student to do. It is also within an hour of the beach, Disneyland, LA, the mountains, and so many other attractions. There is so much to do and a lot of shopping and outdoor opportunities.

Majors: The music department at CBU is AMAZING. There are so many different performance opportunities and groups no matter the skill level. In addition the music building is relatively new and is top of the line. The faculty and staff are awesome and truly care about helping students succeed and getting to know them on a personal level.

Majors: Admission at CBU is pretty straightforward. They are very quick in processing applications and acceptance is on a rolling basis so you don't have to sit around and wait. The only thing students have to do other than give the school all of your basic information is write and essay about why you think CBU will be a good fit for you. Very simple and friendly admissions process.

Health & Safety: Public Safety is everywhere on campus. They are super easy to find if you need help and there are emergency phones all over campus to call them.

Campus Housing: Housing at CBU is neat, easy to get into, and really comfortable. Students are well accommodated and the staff hired to take care of residents is wonderful and attentive.

Guys & Girls: I have a boyfriend back home, so I don't pay much attention to the boys.

Campus Food: There is a reason CBU is rated number 2 in California for dining. The food is always fresh and you have tons of options. We have an all you can eat cafeteria that has new options for every meal. You can eat healthy or eat a bunch of junk food, so whatever your preferences are, you can be satisfied! We also have the option to swipe our meal cards at Subway and it looks like we are getting a Chik Fil A!

Campus Quality: Not only are the academics great, but the student body is also great! Drugs and alcohol are practically absent from the campus and you are able to make great friends and have fun without having to get into trouble. You are required to go to chapel, but compared to other Christian universities, it is not a hassle because you only have to go once a week.

Campus Quality: The school is constantly having fun events; the intramural sports have awesome championships, during finals week they always give you great ways to escape your studying for a few hours, there are weeks full of activities every day. There is pretty much always something to keep you busy. We have an awesome rec center with gym equipment to keep exercise fun. Student life is my favorite aspect of CBU.

Academics: The professors are what make this school so great! It is a small classroom environment, and most of your professors know you by name. They are easy to get in contact with and are always helpful. Some classes are extremely difficult and some are easier just like other universities; you do need to put in effort to get the grades that you want.

Academics: I know that as a Pre-nursing student, the workload was often more than I thought I could handle, but I made it through with flying colors because I made school my highest priority. I completed the prerequisites in one year, so it is possible if you try hard enough!

Local Area: Riverside is just another big city. It is nice to be close to the beach, Disneyland, and the mountains. The air quality grosses me out though.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I love living on campus for the social aspect of it. The food is also amazing! Living on campus gives you more opportunities to make close relationships with people and get involved in campus activities.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: My freshman year I was able to get great grants and scholarships, but now as I'm going into my sophomore year, they cut back on my grants and I am having a harder time finding scholarships.

Diversity: Cal Baptist is stereotyped as being all white, rich kids. However, this is not the case. Many students are on scholarships and loans in order to go there, and the population is also fairly diverse. CBU has an affiliation with Rwanda, so we have quite a few international students living on campus. If you want a diverse friend group, it is not hard to find.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I was just recently accepted into the nursing program, so previously my major was Pre-nursing. All of the professors were so helpful whenever you had a question and the school is small enough to where you know a lot of people in your major. Friendly competitions between the students is a great way to have some extra motivation!

Administration: Going to a Christian university means that there will be rules. They enforce the rules well and I think that they are appropriate. We have an alcohol and drug free campus. There is a dress code, and visitation hours are limited. This is all for our safety and morals and if you follow the rules, you won't get in trouble.
