Party Scene: On campus parties are lively and fun but most girls go to Haverford or Penn to meet guys.

Health & Safety: Campus Safety is amazing but the Health Center is horrible, inefficient, and costly.

Administration: Thanks to the honor code students are not over-policed and are trusted to make their own decisions.

Local Area: The town of Bryn Mawr is small but has basic shops and Philly is only a 20 minute train ride away, which is perfect.

Athletics: The academics here are incredibly strenuous so being a student athlete requires a delicate balance. lots of people do it and the friendships are very close but the rest of the campus does not attend games very often.

Campus Food: It is better than most schools and there is a lot of variety but dining hall food gets old no matter how much quinoa

Athletics: The teams themselves seem very close-knit and have an accessible, fun sense of community. I can't speak much to the quality of the facilities from the athletes' standpoint unfortunately. Given the size of our school and the fact that varsity sports didn't cross my radar much, I doubt they featured heavily in the experience of many Bryn Mawr graduates.

Academics: I can't say enough about my professors. I built great relationships with them throughout all four years. Even though the volume of work was high, it was always worth meeting high demands and producing increasingly good academic work.

Administration: Bryn Mawr is very lucky to have a policy wherein students are comfortable reaching out to campus safety when if a student is in danger. Students have a many opportunities for communicating their concerns to the administration about social events, and the Party Training system means that the administration is able to manage the social atmosphere.

There is definitely an emphasis on attendance at Bryn Mawr, as many classes are small and discussion based, and students are expected to build a class-to-class rapport with their peers and with their professors. I rarely intentionally missed class while at Bryn Mawr, the exception being my larger lecture-style classes.

The honor system is also a point of pride, as students regularly reinforce it amongst each other. It is a system that benefited us, allowing us to schedule our own exams or take them home, and also encourages a positive academic environment.

Campus Housing: Stuck in Brecon freshman year with no idea what I had gotten into. Housing is a bit complicated, but a really valuable system.

Administration: fairly lenient, but strongly handle some issues- esp. honor code.

Campus Housing: The buildings sure are mostly pretty old but that what makes living in these dorms so special. It also doesn't mean that the facility is bad. It looks old outside but totally modern inside. Residential life is great with the Honor Code and residential life assistants too.

Scholarships: The school did a great job processing financial aid. Only thing is that no one likes loan, otherwise I would have rated best!

Athletics: There are certainly many athletes around but the school is so diverse and academia is such a big part in every student's life that athletic is just one of those things happen on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: I feel very comfortable with the policy and strictness. I really think they are strict on things that are important to the community and lenient on area where students can take care of themselves.

Health & Safety: It's really safe on campus and even in town. I feel safe even when walking alone on an empty street at night.

Weather: I would be much happier if the winter here is just one month shorter than it usually is. Snow in March is ridiculous! Other than that, autumn foliage and even the first snow in November/December is beautiful.

Off-Campus Dining: There are only a few restaurants around but they offer a variety of food from Japanese to Mexican to Indian. It is pretty costly to dine out though because there's not a lot of competition between the restaurant they usually charge pretty high.

Like any highly-rated liberal arts college, Bryn Mawr provides a stellar education to a vibrant student body on a campus so beautiful that sometimes it looks surreal. During the school year, especially in the dead of winter, it is easy to overlook these tremendous offerings and instead focus on the massive amount of work, as it contrasts to what can seem like a dearth of social opportunities. These are the times where some freshmen consider transferring.

Traditions help lighten the mood on campus, and despite what seems to be stress oozing out of every pore, most students manage to do a lot more than just handle their school work-though everyone agrees that academics is a priority. In the end, students are most proud of their academic work, but also fond of the school and experiences that they had here. Mawrters come to Bryn Mawr to benefit from the faculty and coursework the school is known for. Some women find the lack of boys on campus difficult to adjust to, or they find the general smallness of the campus undesirable, but in the end, most stay for the same reason they came: academics. When it's over, few look back on the decision with regret.
