Free parking all four years is a huge advantage Bryant offers that many schools don't. Because of the large number of cars on campus, it can sometimes be difficult to find a spot close to your hall, but seeing as there is nowhere on campus farther than a 5- to 10-minute walk, it's really not as big a problem as students make it out to be at times. Freshmen can only park in the main lot, which is by the football field. If DPS finds you parked in a restricted area, they will ticket your car. Upperclassmen are allowed to park anywhere, which makes it difficult to find a parking spot close to the upperclassman dorms. This leads to some "creative" parking attempts, such as using cones to save spots or trying to create new spots, but DPS is quick to ticket anyone who parks illegally. And make sure you pay your tickets—if you don't, the University will place a hold on your account, which may prevent you from registering for classes or receiving your grades.
