Brown’s facilities reflect Brown student’s needs—the average Brown student would tell you they spend much more time in the library than at the gym. Therefore, it makes sense that the libraries and computer centers are constantly renovated and updated, while other facilities may receive less attention. That being said, Brown is not completely lacking any facilities, but it is easy to see which interests are given priority.
Compared to other Ivies, Brown’s facilities are modest and reflect a certain degree of frugality. A quick look at the campus will not necessarily showcase the hidden, but first-rate, costume shop, wood and metal working studio, or the special libraries. Most students have everything they need, though it may take them a little time to find it.
