Online Courses

Online Courses: I have taken 6 online classes. As with any online course, do not sign up if you are not diligent. Online courses require the same amount of work as in-person courses. It's just convenient if you have a job or are unable to find transportation. I have never had a professor who didn't respond to emails within a reasonable time frame. I haven't had any problems at all, really.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Depends entirely on your professor. I'm taking a pretty tough Environmental Science class online right now, and it's only tough because the professor gives big comprehensive exams and doesn't give study guides. Only take online classes for subjects that you'd expect to do well in. Taking a test without ever actually hearing a professor speak is much harder. You will be reading powerpoint slides and teaching yourself. The online system, D2L, is very good, so don't worry about that. All of your major exams (not little quizzes) will probably be taken on campus in the testing center, so be prepared for that.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: Though online classes give a strong sense of convenience, you learn less than you could have in an on campus class

3 College Senior

Online Courses: Most of the online courses have terrible teachers that have no contact with the students.

5 College Junior

Online Courses: The campus is a beautiful place, full of great students that are willing to help each other. The professors are friendly and always give the students time to answer questions and help them out.
