Even though Broward College has one of the lowest tuition rates, don't let that fool you.. I have learned more from the BC professors than other universities combined - I have been to. Most of the professors are either in that career field of learning and/or retired professors from other major universities in the country. The online college website is very user-friendly. I prefer their Distance Online Learning (used for taking online classes), the easiest to maneuver and post homework, discussions, etc. Another benefit in attending Broward College is they have so many different career events and clubs that help a person distinguish their career goals and opportunities.

This is my second degree at Broward College. I highly recommend this college to anyone seeking a solid - well built education! Also for one of the most positive experiences in an academic setting. Best of luck to all! Erin Derwitz

I'm a Sociology major. In my experience, some of the professors are fantastic and some are not. If you can take Todd Bernhardt, or Melissa Lepore, you'll probably be very happy. I found Prof. Bernhardt, stuck with him for three semesters, and I've had a wonderful time. I took General Sociology, Criminology, Sociology of Human Sexuality, and Social Problems Honors. That's more than enough to get you into a state school's Sociology program. If you take the same classes that I did, with the same professors, you will leave Broward College with a rock-solid base for upper division courses. By the end of your time at BC, you will probably get a little bit bored with the 2000 level SYG classes. I'm in my last semester, and in my experience, most kids don't seem to take more than one Sociology course. Every semester, you'll be starting fresh with students who don't know the basics. And so, every lesson will have a little bit of the basic stuff thrown in. You'll hear about Functionalism, and then you'll hear it applied to crime in Criminology, or social issues in Social Problems, or something else in Human Sexuality. This isn't necessarily a bad thing! By the time you get your AA degree, you will know this stuff by heart. And you need to know this stuff by heart anyway!

The most amazing part which is kind of frustrating now that I am transferring to FIU, is how easy you can manage your schedule as you pleased. The website is not hard to understand at all and I love D2L, it has made my experience and the flexibility even better! Broward College had its bad professor but overall they were great they really knew what they were teaching and you still feel the college experience. I study at night because I work during the day but all the time I receive emails about the future events and they have many curriculum activities which I imagine makes the experience better
