This school is a great place to take core classes. They are smaller sized classes which helps in engaging in the class and therefore paying more attention. This helps in the success of the student in their classes.

As far as community colleges go, Brookhaven is great because of its low key atmosphere, helpful staff and friendly students. There was a severe mix up with my schedule recently and I had no idea who to talk to about it. Luckily, a nearby student heard me ask a clerk some questions and offered to show me to some advisors he thought could help me. After that, everything was straightened out fairly quickly. Brookhaven College is a great and friendly place to get college credits out of the way. Don't let the laid back atmosphere fool you though. Brookhaven may be a community College, but that doesn't mean the professors don't take their jobs seriously!

I enjoy going to the lectures and all the professors I've encountered have been very helpful and keep me interested in the content. Very clean and organized campus. The only thing I dislike is the subway that is located on campus, not a very healthy food choice considering the ingredients found in their bread is also found in yoga mats.
