Weather: In the summer it's super hot and dry, and in the winter the snow makes it hard to walk to campus, although the roads are pretty good because of all the snowplows.

3 College Junior

Weather: If you like the cold, that's the weather for most of the school year. One day it can snow and two days later it can be 60 or 70 degrees...always be prepared for any type of weather

Provo has beautiful weather. Due to the distinct four seasons that Utah experiences, everyone is bound to be pleased at least one day. Utah is a desert; as such, it's very dry. This makes the summer heat a little less suffocating and the winter cold less biting. Don't let the averages fool you-the summers can get up in the 90s, and the winters down into the teens. If you are a skier, you will love Utah's amazing powder and great terrain. If you like summer sports, the lakes and mountains offer a great escape from the heat.

If you are not used to the cold, it may come as a bit of a shock, but don't worry, most students say that it is not as bad as they expected. Be sure to bring all types of different clothing-the key really is layers. A coat is necessary in the winter, and be sure to look at the dress code before buying any new summer clothes to make sure that they will be allowed on campus.
