Scholarships: It took some time to find the application point, but after that it was relatively straightforward.

Scholarships: It's really difficult to receive financial aid when you are a middle class, white citizen and your dad still works.

Scholarships: Financial aid is a difficult thing to acquire at BYU. Most of the students who attend BYU come from conservative families and as such, most students seek financial aid to cover the cost of their schooling. My experience so far with financial aid has been relatively easy--but frustrating as well. My parents make enough money to cover my tuition, but with the medical problems my mother has gone through within the last few months, tuition isn't something I would like my parents to have to worry about. As such, I'm trying all I can to help them out with that sector of finances. The BYU financial office doesn't take into consideration all sides to an issue before telling a student "no" of "yes" to financial aid. I am also listed as a transfer student and because of that I do not qualify for any scholarships from the school until after I have completed 2 full-time semesters. While I understand that BYU is a highly ranked and highly competitive school, I do wish the financial situation was easier to deal with.
