Off-Campus Housing: There is a lot of housing for single people and the quality is typically pretty high as long as your are willing to pay around 300 per month sometimes cheaper. Married housing is usually harder to find a good deal on. If you want to pay less that 700 per month on housing, just expect to live in a dumpy apartment.

Campus Food: There are many fast food restaurants available on campus that are reasonable priced. Some of them include Taco bell, Chick Fil A, and Subway. Those are my favorites. There are fewer options at the fast food restaurants on campus in the food court but the important options are definitely there.

5 College Senior

Local Area: Tons to do and lots of outdoor activities.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: The schools so competitive. I still need financial aid and can't find any.

5 College Senior

Party Scene: There's not really alcohol and any of the events off campus that students go to. The entertainment is usually of high quality because people are actually listening.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: You have a lot of fun when you are a Freshmen. After that, off campus housing is great.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: A lot of wonderful teachers and opportunities for learning.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: People love BYU graduates when higher because they are known for high moral ethics and for being hard working.

Health & Safety: The campus is way safe. The honor code that is required by BYU attracts people who have high moral standards resulting in appropriate conduct between the sexes.

4 College Senior

Campus Food: It's a little expensive, but there is pretty good variety.

5 College Senior

Guys & Girls: A lot going on- you can get involved and have a great time if you want to.

Majors: Love it. There are mentoring opportunities and great job placement.

Academics: The Exercise and Wellness program consists of an excellent faculty, with many experienced and wise teachers. They also make sure that students have many application opportunities so that they are taking action outside of the classroom on principles that they learn inside the classroom.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: The professors are typically very willing to help students individually to succeed in the classes. They also suggest to students to study at least 2-3 hours per credit hour, which is a perfect amount to assure a student's success.

Campus Quality: Although there are numerous students on campus, Byu accommodates for the large number of people with large, spacious facilities. Having many people allows for more opportunities to meet new people when going to play a sport, visit the library, or any other activity on campus.

Party Scene: The nightlife at Byu typically is filled with good, wholesome fun for the students. There are constantly activities occurring on campus, and there is always something to do every day!

Party Scene: A lot of good, clean fun.

Local Area: Typical college town with a good number of things to do.

Campus Food: Not a lot of variety but convenient.

Scholarships: Most scholarships given by BYU are academic. Thus if you are a good student and have a good GPA you can usually obtain a scholarship. I have a military scholarship so I do not usually worry about this process although I do apply for grants and cash scholarships to help with living expenses.

4 College Junior

Majors: We have a very large a variety of majors. There may be a few specialized areas such as culinary arts or something that we do not have majors for.

4 College Junior

Majors: We have tons of internships and resources on campus to help you find one. For my major and internship or research project are required to graduate. There are international internships set up all over the world and scholarship opportunities to fund them.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: Just average restaurants and cafeteria food. One acception is that we run our own creamery which makes high end ice creams, milks, etc.

Diversity: BYU has international students from around the world providing an enriching cultural experience to all students. The school has limited diversity in religion and values simply because it is a private school run by the LDS church. Even the non LDS students tend to share in a lot of the values we promote on our campus which is why they choose to come to BYU.As far as sexual orientation we do not discriminate against those who have same sex attraction etc. However we view it as an adversity and it is totally fine as long as one does not act out on it. You won't see two men flirting with each or 2 girls out on a date at our school. Just like smoking may be a temptation for some it's considered fine to have the temptation but not to act on it. We have students from just about every economic background and we all come together as one group with a shared identity as brothers and sisters where riches or lack there of do not matter.

Guys & Girls: Just like any population you will run into a few "rotten apples". For the most part those attending our school have strong values. They are usually smart because of the selection criteria for attending BYU. Our campus in general attracts certain types of individuals who have certain belief systems which somewhat molds how people behave at BYU.

The men in accordance with our schools honor code are clean shave, well groomed, and dressed modestly. In my opinion this makes them more attractive, no saggy pants with boxers hanging out, no looking like we just walked out of a dumpster, and no showing off things to be "sexy". Social life is great BYU has a variety of clubs and on campus activities to enhance the college experience. The guys readily participate in lots of fun without the alcohol.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

A BYU experience is unlike anything else. The things that you will learn go far beyond what is taught in the classrooms, and the people that you will meet are exceptional. Researching the school, and being familiar with the rules and expectations of students, will make the transition smoother and help you get the most out of your BYU experience.

Talking with people who have attended, reading books such as this one, and looking at the BYU Web site (www.byu.edu) are all great ways to make sure that this is really the school for you. If you decide that BYU is what you want, then jump in and enjoy it! You are in for a great and character-building experience.
