Campus Housing: On-campus housing has been getting a major makeover during the past year. About 8 brand new Heritage Hall buildings have gone up close to campus. It sounds like married housing, which hasn't been updated for a long time, will finally start to get updated soon. The Helaman Halls cafeteria--the Cannon Center--is awesome. A lot of choices, buffet-style, relatively new building. A lot of social activities all around campus!

Off-Campus Dining: Because I have a meal plan, I eat mostly on campus, but every time I go out, I am impressed by what is available. There is quite a bit to choose from! Lots of ethnic variety at reasonable prices.

Administration: I am grateful for the Honor Code at Brigham Young University. It helps me have the experience that I want in college. I am grateful for the school policies that we have.

Party Scene: Quite a few of the apartment complexes throw parties for the students. Parties in the canyons are also popular because we are a school located close to the mountains. From what I have seen, we have a fun and positive party scene.

Scholarships: The issue I have with financial aid, is that it is very biased. It's hard when you are in the middle-class to receive the aid that you need.

Campus Food: There are many food options on campus which help with the variety aspect. However, the food does get old after a while if you have a meal plan.

Campus Housing: I work as a Resident Assistant for Brigham Young University, so I live in the dorms. Just like any on-campus housing at any school, there is room for improvement, but I have been impressed with all that is put in to making the Freshman dorms be an experience one will never forget. As an RA, I have seen all that goes in to making housing the best that it can be. Multiple activities are put together on a weekly basis, campus is only a five-minute walk away and there all friends all around!

Off-Campus Housing: The school provides a catalog with the off-campus housing sites. I love this. It shows the housing with the price per various contracts. It then shows what amenities are provided and which ones are to be payed for along with rent. It has a map showing how close most of the housing is. The housing itself is kind of iffy. The parking is terrible. Most places require parking on the street, and there is nowhere on the street to park. Lots of cars get towed. It is definitely housing that one would only want to stay in for a year or so. Lots of places are falling apart. They need much repair. There are some really nice places for kids who have rich families that are paying for their housing.

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of little places around the town. We have all kinds of different ethnic foods. We also have different styles of services for the same types of food. The cost for many of the meals are fairly cheap. There are not many student discounts, but it is made up for in the cost. Most places are really easy to walk to, so the distance is great. Most places are usually full on Friday evenings, especially frozen yogurt and ice cream shops.

Administration: We have a great honor code. Because it is a Christian school, we try to be very pure and wholesome. The honor code makes campus life a lot more stress-relieving. I feel we can trust almost anyone on campus. It, of course, doesn't stop everything, but it does give a sense of security.

Scholarships: Be smart. That is how you get a scholarship. If you have a high GPA, you get one. If you have a good GPA, it still isn't good enough.

Campus Food: There is so much variety: from vending machines to semi-gourmet dishes. You can have almost any convenience in meals. And, it can also pick if you want cheap food or really delicious food. There are discounts if a student uses their student card to purchase meals. That is nice. There are some pretty good sandwiches in the vending machines.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is ok, but can be poorly maintained or have weird social atmospheres. You have to find your place and your people and decide what pros and cons you can settle for.

Off-Campus Dining: In n Out is GREAT to have around and there's a number of fast food options that range from typical- McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, to more unique- The Malt, Hot Potato, etc. There are a few ethnic options but I haven't explored them for the most part. Ok Mexican Food when you go more authentic but still incomparable to Mexican Food in CA.

Administration: The honor code makes BYU more strict than many colleges but what's really annoying is the strictness around parking enforcement.

Party Scene: Partying at BYU is different from other schools because it's not popular to drink or use drugs- so you end up finding really creative ways to have fun without being under the influence of anything.

Campus Food: There's a lot of variety and a few hidden gems around campus when you get bored of the typical places.

Campus Housing: Super nice brand new dorms have been built right next to campus. BYU cares a lot about student housing and employs really awesome Resident Assistants who help make on-campus housing as great as it is.

Campus Food: Tons of options that are either on campus or walking distance.

Campus Food: Although you have a lot of options to choose from for where to eat, the meal plan is EXPENSIVE! You usually don't even use it all!

Campus Housing: Living on campus is a great way to make new friends and really get involved with the school. The dorms are average, but there are so many places on site to hang out and have fun.

Athletics: I don't play sports or anything, but I absolutely LOVE going to the games. They are so much fun, and everyone gets so into the games! It's something that the entire campus unites about! The Smith Fieldhouse, Richard's Building, and Student Athletic Building, as well as the Levell Edwards Stadium and Helamen Fields are amazing! They are super nice, and the staff is super friendly. One thing I really love about BYU is how nice the players are. At some colleges, the players are cocky and full of themselves, and consider themselves better than everyone else, but not here!

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of options when looking for off-campus housing. There are super cheap places to live, but also some pretty expensive places to live. It depends on what you're looking for. There is always something for everyone. They are all fairly close to campus, and they all require that you follow the honor code that BYU has. That is super nice, and it makes them all pretty safe places to live. I come from a pretty unsafe place, so for me, that is a huge plus! Everyone is super friendly, and when you are researching places to live, the managers are super helpful!
