Overall Experience: I have only completed one full year here so far, but overall I am enjoying it. I dislike the huge size as i feel it takes away from the ability to make learning individualized and personal, but the teachers and students are very nice and the campus is beautiful.

Overall Experience: I really liked the social aspect of college. It is a great environment at BYU, but I did not have a great experience academically. It is a really good school, and I am glad that I have the opportunity to fix some of the problems that I created for myself. It is a great learning environment and there are many different opportunities for fun and learning.

Overall Experience: I love BYU. When I was getting ready to apply for colleges I just had no idea what I wanted. My mother had me apply to many schools and BYU was one of them. I am so glad I did. The campus is beautiful. The professor want you to succeed. There are many resources and opportunities provided to students getting ready to graduate. The school has accredited and the students are hard workers. The atmosphere is very good and conducive to success. It is a sober school. They have an honor code that set it apart from most schools. It is a religious school. It take an interesting approach to learning. In the majority of the classes offered, the professors include how God is present in the subject matter. I took Biology my first year and it was every interesting to learn about evolution through the eyes of someone who believes God exists in all things. I have really enjoyed attending this school. It is a privilege to be attending here and I highly recommend BYU.

Overall Experience: I don't know how I would do if I didn't get to learn about spiritual truths alongside with the many other truths of life. This school not only gives us high goals and standards to achieve, but it also enables us to achieve them by excellent, affordable services and resources.

Overall Experience: I think the teachers/courses and education possible are incredible, although I do disagree with some portions of the honor code, but I understand why they exist.

Overall Experience: I loved attending BYU. It is not for everyone. You have to decide to live by the honor code. If you can be happy doing that, you will receive a quality education with wonderful peers and amazing professors. Also, the value is incredible for the cost.

Overall Experience: I have only experienced a small portion of college life and I love it. BYU is my dream college and I honestly cannot believe that I am able to attend this wonderful university. The classes are challenging, however, they push me to work hard and always aspire to do better. I am so excited to experience the rest of my time here.

Overall Experience: I have wanted to attend Brigham Young University my entire life, so it felt incredibly good to be accepted to that school and know that everything I have worked for has been worth it. I love the environment of BYU--the people, the high standards, how hard students work. I get to be surrounded by thousands of people who share my same religious beliefs, I get to take classes that study different aspects of my religion--there's a great feeling of love and understanding that I really appreciate.

Overall Experience: Brigham Young University is excellent! It's the perfect college for me and I am happy to be attending. It's funny because many people who go to BYU from out of state didn't want to go there for all of high school but end up there anyway (myself included). It truly is a great college though. The teachers, classes, social environment, cost of tuition, and quality of education are spot on. I had a lot of other options, but BYU was the best.

Overall Experience: BYU is not for everyone. I accept that. But for me as an individual BYU offers everything I need and want. It's accounting program is one of the best in the nation so I know I am receiving a good education as well as at a very good price competitively. I love the high moral standards and the security. I love the scenery of Provo and the great backdrop of the mountains. Overall it's perfect for me.

Campus Housing: Honestly, living in New Heritage on campus housing at BYU is the best! It is a fabulously spacious and clean and updated place to live/ I loved the apartment and the buildings are really well-maintained. Only downside is that its a ten minute walk from most of campus and sometimes the atmosphere in New Heritage can be kind of antisocial because everyone has their own space, whereas in Helaman everyone gets to know everyone. But it's a great deal for what you're paying I would recommend New Heritage on campus living to anyone!

Off-Campus Housing: I will be using the off-campus housing for the first time this year. It fills up pretty quickly, but I haven't been so involved in the selection process. There is a pretty good variety of price ranges and options though.

Party Scene: Good, clean, high energy parties. The DJing is a mixed bag though. Often accompanied by special features- bouncy castles, etc. Parties typically take place at the Wilkinson center or at student dorms.

Off-Campus Dining: Pretty average. A few good places close to campus, plus the usual fast food.

Administration: The students agree to live an Honor Code in line with standards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so glad they help enforce and encourage this because it helps me stay focused on my studies and not be distracted by drugs/alcohol etc. etc. On campus all bikes need to be registered, which is a bit of a hassle but a pretty easy process.

Campus Food: Being able to use the student card at vending machines was very convenient for a quick snack. The complete meal plan I used in 2012-13 was too much though. I really enjoyed eating at the Cannon Centre, as well as the secret menus at Taco Bell and the multiplicity of options. Depending on what kind of atmosphere you are looking for, different options are available. And BYU ice cream is always a winner.

Scholarships: It took some time to find the application point, but after that it was relatively straightforward.

Be sure to apply to the scholarships sufficiently early to submit your essays etc. and have time for review. Once you've located the links, be sure to save backup copies of your essays in case you are interrupted in the application process.

Campus Housing: The housing has been undergoing intense rebuilding, and I was in the last generation of the old housing. They were a noticeably old, but the social atmosphere was wonderful and very close. Appropriate standards enforcement made for a pleasant environment, and the new upgraded housing provides more spacious accommodations.

Closeness to campus was a perk, made it possible to walk everywhere. The housing was right on the edge of campus however, making for longer trips back to the apartment.

A BYU experience is unlike anything else. The things that you will learn go far beyond what is taught in the classrooms, and the people that you will meet are exceptional. Researching the school, and being familiar with the rules and expectations of students, will make the transition smoother and help you get the most out of your BYU experience.

Talking with people who have attended, reading books such as this one, and looking at the BYU Web site (www.byu.edu) are all great ways to make sure that this is really the school for you. If you decide that BYU is what you want, then jump in and enjoy it! You are in for a great and character-building experience.
