Health & Safety: Very little crime happens that I have noticed. Anything you lose will typically end up in the lost and found, not stolen. In the event that you are the victim of a crime, police are quickly available. Special phones have been set up around campus if you ever feel in danger.

Campus Housing: Wonderful places to live on-campus! My only issue is pricing, but there were cheaper options available.

Overall Experience: I love the community here! There are nice and helpful people everywhere, including TA's and professors.

3 College Junior

Athletics: People are enthusiastic about sports. Unfortunately, this also leads to what I consider unhealthy and un-mannered behavior towards the 'rival' schools.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: I do not know anyone who drinks or does drugs at the school

Greek Life: I have never heard of Greek life being something that we had. We very well might, there are countless clubs and groups that I have never heard of.

Athletics: I am not part of any sports or athletics at our school, but I have seen the facilities and know that they do the job well, and are taken care of. Our school spirit and support for our athletes is awesome. That is the biggest reason that going to games and competitions is so much fun!

Overall Experience: Brigham Young University is full of opportunities and learning experiences. Because of its size and high standards, its very competitive in all aspects. The spirit of the school is wonderful, and while its ranked high as a college, it is surprisingly affordable. I am only a freshman, but because of all that the school has done for me, I already bleed blue for BYU.

Campus Housing: It is very social to live on campus and was my favorite place I lived so far. I made excellent friends and had a blast socially. I would highly recommend any freshman to live on campus in Helaman hall for the social aspect of it.

Athletics: The athletic events at school are some of my favorite activities to participate in. I love attending basketball, volleyball and football games. Even thought the sports games are tons of fun the intramural sports can be just as exhilarating. They provide an opportunity for the students to be involved and play sports. The athletic facilities are pretty nice, especially the collegiate athletes facilities.

Overall Experience: I would choose BYU again in a heart beat. The school is more than I have ever dreamed. Of course it is demanding and hard academically but that is why you are at school to learn. The overall environment of the university is what makes the school very unique and incredible.

Campus Housing: The cost and convenience of housing is pretty good, but you kind of have to do some digging to find out which places are great and which are iffy.

A BYU experience is unlike anything else. The things that you will learn go far beyond what is taught in the classrooms, and the people that you will meet are exceptional. Researching the school, and being familiar with the rules and expectations of students, will make the transition smoother and help you get the most out of your BYU experience.

Talking with people who have attended, reading books such as this one, and looking at the BYU Web site (www.byu.edu) are all great ways to make sure that this is really the school for you. If you decide that BYU is what you want, then jump in and enjoy it! You are in for a great and character-building experience.
