College Senior

Campus Housing: I've never lived in campus housing.

College Senior

Greek Life: Really isn't very much Greek life at all.

3 College Senior

Campus Food: Kind of expensive for the quality.

4 College Senior

Local Area: It's a very safe place and it's not very far from the mountains so there are a lot of hiking trails, etc.

Party Scene: Lots of people are really friendly.

Athletics: In recent years, the Cougars have been fairly up and down in basketball and football, but the school spirit probably burns as strong if not stronger than any other college across the nation, and they tend to do well in other sports as well.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Provo's a fun place, and although I would say there's a fairly prominent pseudo-hipster culture, there's pretty much something to do for anyone. Intellectual, artsy, sporty-there are plenty of niches to fit into in Provo; it's just a matter of finding one.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Its a great place for college but I would never live there for a career. There is lots to do yet everything is close and people for the most part are friendly.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: There are a lot of options available for students to explore whatever sport they enjoy.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of places but none very healthy.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It is fun and close to campus. It is a little expensive though.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: I have no experience in this subject.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: The parties are good and clean. No drugs are alcohol, good mix of boys to girls and easy to make friends.

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of housing available and the school does a lot to insure it is a good learning environment for the students.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There are so many opportunities available to students from study abroad to getting extra help in school. The teachers for the most part are passionate about what they do and are more than willing to work with the students.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It is easy to get help and there are lots of scholarships available.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: I can walk or ride a bus cheaply to get everywhere I need to go and there are lots of cultural activities on and off campus to attend, if I so desire.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Of course there are hard classes and a lot of work, but this is the time for studying and being a full-time student. I think the professors and other department leaders are great at helping us achieve our goals and preparing us for the real world after college.

1 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I do not know of many, if any, Greeks or sororities/fraternities...

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe walking around campus to and from my apartment and anywhere else I need to go, even at night.

5 College Sophomore

Administration: I think that BYU enforces all their policies well so that the students can have good experiences while we are away from home. You can still do stupid things if you go looking for them, but BYU helps us be the best that we can be.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Everyone that I have met is super friendly and are fantastic people. The only bad thing (for me) is that a lot of them are already married.

Party Scene: There's always things to do and parties going on, although some of them can be lame.

4 College Junior

Athletics: There is a great support and interest in athletics.

Majors: I don't have an internship yet...although it may be difficult to find the PERFECT internship...it is always possible to find one with BYU's connections.

A BYU experience is unlike anything else. The things that you will learn go far beyond what is taught in the classrooms, and the people that you will meet are exceptional. Researching the school, and being familiar with the rules and expectations of students, will make the transition smoother and help you get the most out of your BYU experience.

Talking with people who have attended, reading books such as this one, and looking at the BYU Web site (www.byu.edu) are all great ways to make sure that this is really the school for you. If you decide that BYU is what you want, then jump in and enjoy it! You are in for a great and character-building experience.
