Scholarships: I applied for financial aid a bit late, so I didn't receive any scholarships or grants. I did qualify for a loan, and I had to check my list of "to-do's" and check my messages on my financial aid every day. I suggest applying early and taking your time to fill them out and having someone check it. You can call the financial aid center if you have questions, the number can be found on the BYU website.

Guys & Girls: Because BYU's students are mostly white, there's not much of a variety in color. But there are people from all kinds of communities from the country to big cities. People dress modestly and can be your average jock or a trendy hipster.

Party Scene: It depends on your perception of nightlife. Mormons generally do not drink alcohol or do drugs. Many have asked me what we actually do for fun. I think this makes for more creative activities! There are a ton of fun places to eat, ice skating, camping, hiking, shopping, etc. And Sundance is just a 25 minute drive up the Canyon, not mention Park City and Salt Lake ski slopes are not much farther.

Technology: There are printers in every building. You simply use your BYU ID card to print things. The network is relatively fast, and there is free WiFi all over campus. It is sometimes a bit spotty in the basements of buildings. There are computers in the library and a few select other buildings. I would say that it is necessary to have a computer, as most classes require something that uses a computer. However, I know people who don't have computers and get by just fine.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: im an undeclared major for now, but all the major's at byu are determined to get you graduated. all of the professors have been well experienced in the fields that they teach. they will recommend for jobs and many other great things!

5 College Sophomore

Academics: the campus has a variety of amazing fields that are available for anyone. the work load is hard but is worth it. the professors want us to succed and want that best in whatever we do in our lives. ta's are always willing to help and they should be used reguarly

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: the safety and security on campus is the best i have seen they do not put up with alot and the campus is always always clean. along with that the students do their best to make it a fun and safe enviorment. things do not get out of control here.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: the computers here are amazing they work fast and always have staff ready to help you out the only thing is sometimes it is very hard to get a computer reserved

Weather: Snowy days are challenging. They are good about clearing the walks and parking lots on campus. The rest of the year the weather is great.

4 College Student

Administration: That's why you choose this school - for the values.

Campus Housing: Clean dorms. A variety of food plans available. Lots of activities you can be involved in. Updated dorms. They are building new ones and renovating all the time. Easy walk to class from most of the dorms.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is a lot like high school. There is not really a variety of people. There is a lot of restriction to socializing because the curfews do not run as late as off campus housing and in the New Heritage housing, the place is not really set up to socialize except for in your own dorm. Heritage Halls is typically a better place to dorm because I've heard many complaints from people at Helaman about the food at the Cannon Center.

4 College Freshman

Weather: The Utah weather is definitely cold and full of snow in the winter, but BYU usually always has the walkways clear. The campus is really big so it can take a while to reach a class when it's snowing or raining but it's not too bad.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I think the scholarship process is a bit confusing. It's not totally clear where to apply for scholarships. The competition is also so tuff that it is hard to get a scholarship.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: BYU dining is pretty good. The dining centers are usually really crowded but there are a lot of options in the Cougar Eat and there are many vending machines around campus.

3 College Junior

Weather: It is really snowy and cold in provo, UT. Sometimes it inhibits your desire to actually walk to class.

4 College Junior

Academics: The professors are very knowledgeable and care about there students and there grades. Classes are extremely demanding, but usually worth it in the end if you put in the work.

4 College Junior

Administration: The campus is gorgeous and the spirit of education there is valued very highly. People there care about you and your success and there are a lot of different opportunities to meet people and become involved in something that you enjoy doing.

4 College Junior

Academics: As a dietetics student there is a lot of opportunities for hands-on experience and to work with others in the program to complete projects. You learn how to work and communicate with others as well as to network.

3 College Junior

Majors: This summer I plan on travelling to Fiji with Help International and getting internship credit from teaching nutrition there for 2 months. The people in the internship office are really helpful when it comes to inquiring about hos to go about it.

3 College Junior

Majors: As a dietetics major I am generally very happy with my program and the people in it. I love the professors, they are helpful and receptive when I have questions. Sometimes the classes seem a little disorganized, but I like how close I am to the girls in the program.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The academics at BYU are great. A lot is expected of the students there but the professors are very knowledgeable and so are the TA's. The registration process is painless and easy. BYU has one of the best and coolest libraries in the country. It is a popular place to go study. Often times you will find students sprawled out of the grass studying.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: There are a lot of students from different countries and I have never seen a problem with the students accepting them. Because it is a religious school it is more conservative in general but there are lots of students with their own beliefs.

5 College Freshman

Academics: This is a great major at my school. A lot of the professors are involved in research and have published material. They are available to help you out. The workload is average and doable. There are always internship opportunities available.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of places to eat with huge variety. Most places are pretty low cost and have great environments.
