Off-Campus Housing: You can find what you want, usually slightly over priced.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of fun places to eat at here in Provo. Because it is a smaller town everything is pretty much within walking distance. A lot of places also give student discounts on top of already cheap prices. Provo is great because everything is incredibly convenient and very young-adult friendly. It's a great social atmosphere at a lot of the places as well.

Athletics: Varsity Sports at BYU are always high intensity and a great place to unwind and cheer for your school. BYU has a wide variety of sports to watch that you can almost always find something that will interest you. We often have special school spirit activities to show our support. There are also certain events at which we all dress in the same color to show fan support. BYU varsity sports will always bring excitement into your life.

Weather: Living in Utah a lot of students are faced with all kinds of whether. No matter the conditions classes are generally never canceled. During the Winter it can be extremely cold with lots of snow fall which makes walking to and from classes more challenging but the campus is immaculate during the peak of each season. Spring through Fall semesters are absolutely gorgeous and the whether is pretty warm. Not until Winter does it get cold.

Majors: The Mechanical Engineering program at BYU is intensive and requires much effort. However, this should not drive anyone away from it. It offers a top quality education and a well known university. The type of education you receive only prepares you for the future and so the difficult objectives that are required to meet are indeed difficult but very much worth it.

Academics: My program is in the science department and I love it. BYU has a great program for general courses each student must take. Their goal is to make sure each student is well rounded in all aspects which made my major classes more beneficial. I was able to really understand most aspects of physics in a better way because I had taken general classes to help give me a better understanding of the world around me.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I have not yet had an internship, however, I do plan on getting one. I feel it is important to get an internship for the work experience and getting your name out there to those who are in positions of hiring you. Even if the internship wasn't paid, I feel it would be of great worth to complete because there is no price on getting a job after college. I have worked in trades before such as commercial construction. I really enjoy the feeling of seeing the progress of a building and knowing you had a hand in it.

Campus Quality: BYU has many diverse and determined professors. Their goal is not to pass you; they want to challenge your mind and make you think independently. There are so many campus activities like clubs, dances and other events that create a fun atmosphere for the students. BYU does a great job of forcing you to get to know other people. Because this school has so much history, there are many great traditions as well. Every year during homecoming there are fun activities like dances, comedy shows and even a slip n' slide covered in blue foam! There are so many great opportunities at this school.

Majors: I really enjoy my major Mechanical Engineering. Ever since I was a child, I have been good (in my mind) at math and sciences. I first heard of the Engineering field in middle school and thought that looks like a lot of math and science, maybe its for me. Since then I have done a lot of research into the different fields of engineering and feel like Mechanical is the one I am most interested in. I would love to work in the oil industry if possible, but my career goal in general is to get a good paying job which I will enjoy. The oil industry is not the only field that will fulfill this requirement. I am a little concerned that the field of Mechanical Engineering is so broad that I might end up somewhere that I do not particularly enjoy.

Campus Quality: BYU is an amazing university in the fact that it is very religious. Being in a school with many church members of the LDS faith creates a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Students as well as professors are comfortable discussing religious topics during lecture that apply to the discussion. BYU also takes great pride in the aesthetic features of the campus. The grounds are constantly being well kept and creates a pleasing atmosphere to learn and grow in.

Majors: The process of getting into the Mechanical Engineering major is very competitive. There are 5 required prerequisite classes that range from a Calculus or higher level math course, a physics course, statics, a class on a CAD program, and an engineering seminar. The adviser for the Department of Mechanical Engineering told me that if you could get a 3.4 or higher you would most likely be accepted into the program. I am currently taking my last prerequisite and will be applying at the end of this semester (Winter 2013).

Scholarships: I have the opportunity to receive financial aid , but there aren't as many opportunities as other universities

Local Area: there is tons of activities . lots I kids get really creative and that creates a really fun environment

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Good food, and lots of options. can get boring if you just eat at the cannon center, but there are plenty of other restaurants available, you just have to branch out some...

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Provo is a good college town. There is plenty to do on campus, and several options for entertainment not too far from the university.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received some financial aid my first year, but have had a very difficult time getting any since then.

2 College Freshman

Parking: There are no parking spots for Freshman and they keep getting taken away. Parking on campus for class is difficult too. Better to take the bus, shuttle or walk.

2 College Freshman

Diversity: They pride themselves in it but a lot of the campus is tall, dark and handsome men and the girls are blonde and blue eyed. Everyone dresses very "preppy" or they try "hipster" but it's hard to find anyone who isn't white.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There are no drugs or alcohol usage that I have been able to find. I have heard of some parties that contain the substances near the campus or at one of the colleges near by; however, here at BYU because of the Honor Code, there is no usage because of the LDS influence at the school.

3 College Senior

Majors: I like it pretty well. It being Family Studies. The material is interesting because it is so applicable to daily life. We see relationships everywhere including all of our own. It is helpful to know the ins and outs of these relationships.

5 College Senior

Majors: As a Family Studies major, I was able to use my current job as an internship. I teach dance. Its awesome. But it actually does use a lot of the things I'm learning for my major, i.e. behavioral things, the best way to encourage children to progress.

3 College Senior

Majors: I landed in this major after I had pursued the other possibilities I had imagined for a career. My parents wanted me to just pick something and finish school. I enjoy the material that is taught within this major, and the purpose it holds to benefit lives in and outside of a professional setting. I think if I could do it all over again, I would have entered into this major sooner, and I might have had more options within the major, and to decide on classes that would be a god fit for me.

5 College Freshman

Majors: Family Life: Emphasis in Family Studies is a phenomenal major. I am able to learn so much about family, various studies that have been conducted, and many aspects of future careers. The workload is not as strenuous as other majors, but the intellectual capacity is just as intense. BYU is the only university that has this specific major and there are so many opportunities to learn, grow, and develop a future.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on campus in the 2.5 years I have been here. There are many campus police which can be seen walking on campus. Campus crime is usually limited to minor offenses such as theft.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: BYU is a very unique school owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Every student is required to sign an honor code, which states that the student will abide by certain standards regarding academic honesty as well as dressing modestly and following curfew and other guidelines relating to relationships. Although some students sign the honor code with no intention of following the rules, most of the students do adhere to the guidelines, which creates a atmosphere which can not be found anywhere else. BYU is also a well-known school for it's academic prestige, as well as athletics.
