2 College Junior

Local Area: Rexburg is such a small town. College students make up a majority of the population. There isn't anything special about this town that I would stay for after graduating.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: It's just hard to get to sometimes because I don't have a car and its up and down hills....

2 College Freshman

Local Area: I don't like it here. The events around campus are good but just outside it is dull. There aren't too many parties, there isn't too much to do (there is some), and worst of all, everything goes out of business after a few years it feels like.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: cant complain but it would be good to have a few more things to do.

2 College Sophomore

Local Area: There's a dollar cinema that's only $2.50 for a afternoon showing, $3 for night. There's stuff to do more on campus. Rent a court in the MC and play wally-ball. Tons of FHE activities, like roller skating, which is also on Saturdays. The ropes course. In the winter, sledding, ice skating, snowboarding, skiing, etc.

Rexburg is a small town. The population is less than the number of students who attend the school. The dominant religion of the community is Latter-day Saint (Mormon), just as the campus community is, so the town environment is very similar to the campus environment. It is a very family-oriented Christian community. Some local residents don’t really like having college students around town because they are younger and add a rambunctious energy to the town, but other local residents like the students for that very reason. The students are also part of the reason some businesses and culture have come to Rexburg and are able to flourish in the area.

One of the most appealing characteristics is the kind and genuine people. Students often find themselves surrounded by friendly people who smile and say hi, whether they know you or not. Students go out of their way to hold doors for one another and strike up a conversation. It’s not hard to meet people who you click with and develop a fast friendship. Another thing that adds appeal to the area is the outdoorsy feel. Rexburg has many different landscapes and outdoor activities during all seasons. It can certainly be a breath a fresh air to students who come from crammed, busy cities.
