Parking: There is not a lot of space, so parking is expensive and you have to fight for a spot.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: You can find a campus security officer every five steps, usually patrolling the parking lots.

Academics: The college is expanding, offering more opportunities to those who are willing to work for the education they desire.

Off-Campus Housing: It is not the glamorous setup that all Hollywood movies make college housing appear but it is cozy for someone just leaving home.

Athletics: I'm not much of a sports person. but i do go to the gym and its a great place bran new equipment nice layout. great for sport people and non.

4 College Junior

Athletics: I like the way they do sports here. They make all sports available for anyone wanting to play. They do not have sports teams that go around and play other schools. They just have intramural for all sports. It makes it fun though and allows everyone to be involved.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are many different students from around the world. It is a very friendly place to be and many students get along with each other.

4 College Junior

Administration: BYU-Idaho is very strict on several different things. I like it though because it allows me to stay focus on what I am here to do and have no distractions as you might get at other schools. When you are signing up for the school they do make these things known to you so it not a surprise.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a few options for dinning off campus. A lot of the same places as other places though. They have a few fast food chains here. They do have some nice restaurants to go to, or you can drive 20 minutes and have unlimited choices. So its not to bad.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel that the campus security is very friendly and always there to help if you need it.

3 College Junior

Transportation: There are some housing complexes that allow transportation for the students that live in there complex. Most complexes dont offer it though, but all housing is close enough to be able to walk to campus.

1 College Junior

Party Scene: This school does not allow students to go out and party. I like that because all the students are similar on the aspect of not drinking which is good.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of choices for off-campus housing, and they are building more buildings in the area which make it nice for those students that are looking for a place to live.

3 College Junior

Campus Quality: I enjoy BYU-Idaho because it is a very friendly place. I can also trust most everyone on campus, which makes it very nice.

Campus Quality: There are plenty of things for students do at BYU-Idaho. They have several sports fields and plenty of gym space. They have lots of sporting activities each semester which allow students to get involved with others.

3 College Junior

Weather: In the summer it is extremely nice. Does not get to warm, in the winter it does get really cold. Snows a lot as well. I dont mind it though.

4 College Junior

Technology: It is asked for students to bring there own computers, but there are plenty of computer labs on campus. They have a library with plenty of computers, and in each building they have at least one computer lab there as well.

4 College Junior

Majors: IT was not hard to get into the Agribusiness program. It is a small program, but wants to increase its numbers. The most important criteria for this major is just have a desire to learn about the topic and you can get a lot out of it.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: There are no drugs on campus and if someone does have them, they are kicked out of the school.

5 College Junior

Academics: I am an Agribusiness major. I have recently switched over from Business because agribusiness is a small amount of students so all the professors can get to know me personally and help me make important decisions for my career. They can also give me some extra help to find a job or career that best meets my needs.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
