4 College Sophomore

Administration: BYU Idaho is a LDS school and holds very high standards that creates an atmosphere of higher learning.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Go to their website and search scholarships and all the needed info is there for you.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are enough options to keep you satisfied through the semester.

College Junior

Drug Safety: It is a private, religious college. Most students chose not to have anything to do with substances that will destroy your brain cells.

College Junior

Party Scene: I actually have no idea, if there are a lot of clubs.

2 College Junior

Transportation: It is an isolated city and so it is hard to come across public transportation.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I discovered the answer to the childhood question we all have, "what do you want to be when you grow up", while attending Brigham Young University-Idaho.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: You are what you eat, but the food isn't tempting enough to make you want to eat it.

1 College Junior

Weather: I have discovered a deep, throbbing hate for snow.

3 College Junior

Parking: There is not a lot of space, so parking is expensive and you have to fight for a spot.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: You can find a campus security officer every five steps, usually patrolling the parking lots.

5 College Junior

Academics: The college is expanding, offering more opportunities to those who are willing to work for the education they desire.

5 College Junior

Academics: The sociology program is comprised of some of the most attentive faculty that provide one on one attention to the efforts and ambitions of their students.

3 College Junior

Local Area: Rexburg, Idaho is a small remote town that has grown because of the student population.

College Junior

Diversity: The college is a private school, the rules are higher than others. People that are bound to the same rules usually come from the same upbringing. You choose to attend and the people choosing usually do not have a large diversity in religion, sexual orientation or other areas.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: It is not the glamorous setup that all Hollywood movies make college housing appear but it is cozy for someone just leaving home.

3 College Junior

Athletics: No competition with other schools.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: a little cold in winter

Athletics: I like the way they do sports here. They make all sports available for anyone wanting to play. They do not have sports teams that go around and play other schools. They just have intramural for all sports. It makes it fun though and allows everyone to be involved.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are many different students from around the world. It is a very friendly place to be and many students get along with each other.

4 College Junior

Administration: BYU-Idaho is very strict on several different things. I like it though because it allows me to stay focus on what I am here to do and have no distractions as you might get at other schools. When you are signing up for the school they do make these things known to you so it not a surprise.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
