Scholarships: I received a Pell Grant in the middle of the semester It was great I just wished I could have got it sooner.

Party Scene: Not so much to do at night, its a pretty small town and most places close at about 12. No clubs in Rexburg, so you have to make your own fun.

Diversity: There were many different clubs for different cultures and races that the school sponsored even down to a Canadian club. Theres definitely both rich, poor and everything in between there in Rexburg. Everyone was treated very fairly and everyone is required to live up to the standard thats the school sets, and most people followed closely to it. Most of the school is LDS, so we do have common beliefs among us which makes getting along with anyone, very easy.

Campus Housing: It's pretty good, they have a range variety of apartments here in Rexburg. They have old ones, which I previously stayed in. (I dont recommend those at all.) They also have newer ones which are very nice but are located somewhat far away from campus. The older apartments arent that strict but the newer apartments are way more strict. Social atmosphere is the same for all I would imagine, and the amenities are almost about the same. Some have a pool and others don't but other than that they have about the same.

Parking: Spots fill up fast and the permits aren't too costly. Sometimes they fill up so fast that the only parking spots are in the very back and that is pretty far away from campus. If you are in a spot that you shouldnt be, expect to have a boot or ticket in about an hour or less. Campus is fairly close to all apartments, but there are some who are about a 10-20 min walk away. A car would be nice to have to get around, I would say necessity of a vehicle is 5/10.

4 College Freshman

Technology: They have fairly new computers, the network is fast and reliable to use. Electronically wise, this school is fairly up to date with computers and printing, network, and wifi capability.

Party Scene: This school has no night life. No one goes to clubs here. If you want to enjoy a nightlife here in Rexburg, it usually ends with staying at someone elses apartment and watching a movie, but that usually only happens on Friday or Saturday night. When it comes to transportation, many people here have cars, so if you know at least 5 other people, 1 or 2 are bound to have a car.
They have a couple parties but those are 18+ and are enforced.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I really like this school because of the unity that it shares. Everyone that is here, is here to make friends and to enjoy a safe life with a safe learning environment. Everyone here is friendly and wants to be as happy as possible. My favorite reason is the teachers. All my teachers know me by name and know me by who I am rather than just another student who sits in on their class. It was a little rough at first, but then again whose first semester is absolutely amazing? I would do it again for the atmosphere, for the memories with friends and the activities that it offers.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: All seasons at all times are the people in charge of making conditions safe for the students there to make sure that even in snow the roads are clear and not slippery, and in case of power outages they move as fast as possible to get power back to the town to secure safety. They are always insuring that the walk ways are safe for pedestrians, making sure no one is texting while walking across the roads and insuring that everyone is walking in the designated areas. They are willing to help and give rides if you really need to places.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: They don't have many options. Rexburg is really a small town and really don't provide the best of of foreign tastes. They have maybe 1 of a couple different ethnic restaurants but they aren't the best quality. It seems they just got the restaurants out there there to have some variety. Not the top quality food choice available but still have at least one choice to choose from.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: It's very strict here, but that helps promote a safer atmosphere

College Sophomore

Greek Life: I don't know of any Greeks that go here

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Depending on where you park, there are usually enough spots that are pretty close

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
