Majors: We have some great art staff, but we need more space and more staff to give all art students the attention they need.

3 College Student

Academics: I haven't really gotten into my major as of yet.

4 College Student

Academics: The classes are not too hard and the professors try their best to teach according to the students personal needs.

5 College Student

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity, and everyone just accepts each other for who they are.

4 College Student

Local Area: It is really nice and things seem to be fairly cheap.

4 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: I don't eat out very much, but when I do, it is a great experience.

5 College Student

Health & Safety: I honestly have not personally seen a problem with safety on campus. I have heard of things that people have done in Rexburg, but it hasn't been things to the point of criminal activity.

Off-Campus Housing: I live in Nauvoo and I really like it there. It is really home-y which a lot of people really like, but I know of people who like some of the others places that seem more like a hotel than a apartment. Where I am at it is really nice that it isn't too far from campus, so even when it is cold, it doesn't take too much bravery to walk to class.

4 College Student

Athletics: I really like how it is not super huge, but it is still competitive enough to keep those who do like sports, interested and busy.

4 College Student

Party Scene: I personally haven't been to many "parties" but people are always having a good time and hanging out with people, so that's what I would consider a good party.

4 College Student

Administration: I haven't really run into things that would cause me to think otherwise.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Have tried to apply but have not received any scholarships

Overall Experience: The best college I have ever attended. As a transfer student from the Northeast, I can say that this university has provided its students with well educated and experienced professors. The courses that are offered have great variety. The campus and all its residents are inviting and cheerful. The class styles are fun and captivating and the class sizes are small enough so that the professor and classmates may get to know each other, but large enough that group work and projects are always fun and charismatic.

Overall Experience: Graduating with a degree from Brigham Young University Idaho has a reputation unlike any other I've seen. Companies, schools and any other recruiters seeking employees often turn to graduate from BYUI because this university has taught its students the value of work, and the integrity of what it means to be worthy of any job offer. The quality of employers recruiting on campus and center/services is unbelievable. The devotion and enthusiasm to guide and help students is great. I wish more people would follow this example in other universities because the benefits are simply so gratifying.

Athletics: Though there isn't an established varsity team for the college. Intermural sports are fun and exciting to watch and play.

Off-Campus Housing: I love the off campus life! You have so much more freedom then on campus!

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: We do not have sports teams, we just have intramural sports.

1 College Sophomore

Scholarships: They base your financial aid off of your parents income, but the only problem is my parents do not pay for my school, i do!

Administration: The honor code is really enforced at school. You are the only one who is accountable for your actions.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have not really heard of many sexual assault cases so i do not know how they are handled.

2 College Sophomore

Local Area: It is way too small of a town for me!

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Since Rexburg is such a small town the food is pretty bad. To get any good food you have to drive about 30 min to the next town.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: We are LDS so that means the parties are always free of drugs and alcohol. It is just fun to meet new people, dance and have a good clean time!

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
