4 College Junior

Academics: this is good, and their is alot of options on the school website for these.

3 College Junior

Technology: the connections to the computers could be better. need to stop the hacking of who ever is doing it, its annoying.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: we obey the word of wisdom, check it out , it will bless your life.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: well i am marrid now, so i dont have much of a nightlife except for having a good time with my wife watching netflix. need to hangout more with marrid couples.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Athletics could be better at byu-I. just need to be better organization in some things. one time I did an activity and the rules were the rules but as a team bended the rules and won, it was no fair. so things need to change.

1 College Junior

Transportation: this school doesnt have much of a option for public transportion, except for living at a complex, that has shuttle buses that drive to campus or its up to having your own car.

2 College Sophomore

Transportation: There is basically no form of public transportation.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics here are okay. I don't participate in them very much.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I enjoy the option of off campus housing. It feels as safe as being on campus, with a little bit more freedom.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: We have lots of computer labs, easy access to anything you would need.

1 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is very little diversity. I also feel that sometimes people are intolerant of those that are different.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The campus is totally safe. I never feel like I have something to worry about if I'm near the school.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: In the winter it is terrible. Windy and cold and miserable. In the spring however, it is absolutely beautiful. I'm outside every day and I love it.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There aren't a ton of options. The best ones are too far away.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I don't really love living on campus. It was a little strict, but tolerable.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I don't have to worry about my stuff getting stolen or getting jumped if I am walking home at night. It's extremely safe on and off-campus.

Drug Safety: Zero peer pressure. You will never be pressured into drinking or doing drugs. Ever.

Administration: They are very strict when it comes to the honor code but that is what makes this place special. No one really is wanting to do that stuff anyways, and so it just makes it less stressful since you avoid peer pressure.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: They do tend to give for academic purposes. If you do well in school you might get one but I feel like it is impossible to get a need based scholarship.

Off-Campus Dining: Average. That is the best word to describe it. There are just not very many options. Yes, there is a lot of fast food but if you want a nice restaurant, go elsewhere. The nicest place here is Applebee's

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: There are no varsity sports but they do offer a lot of intramural sports which does make up for it.

2 College Sophomore

Party Scene: To be honest you have to create it yourself. There isn't too much to do.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It's just not very comfortable. Yes, it's close to campus but other than that it is just not worth it.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The professors are mostly really helpful and the small class sizes are great.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
