4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I am not a high maintenance girl so I appreciate the cheap, affordable housing

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I have applied for dozens and dozens of scholarships but can't seem to get any. I really want a college education and I pay for it out of my own pocket but it has been a struggle because no one will hire me between my breaks due to the awful economy and I have been struggling and using up all my savings. I try to avoid debt by all means possible so there have been a few nights where I went to bed starving. Education is very important to me.

3 College Freshman

Technology: I usually use my laptop so I am not quite sure how the school computers function

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I almost always feel safe around campus but there are a few creepers that linger around and take advantage of young women

3 College Freshman

Transportation: I usually walk a mile to the doctors if I have too but cars are nice to have

5 College Freshman

Local Area: I love the small town feel

3 College Freshman

Majors: I have a really hard time taking my online classes, it's a big struggle for me, I'd appreciate help

2 College Freshman

Majors: Online classes are hard, I'm a visual learner but I like one-on-one interaction and learning personally, tutor sessions would help

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: We don't have sorieties or greek life at my college

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Compared to other colleges not many students do drugs, those who do almost always get caught

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Its a small town so mostly fast food places.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: Not much transportation, only other students.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live off Campus and love every minute of it.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I wish Scholarships were more available.

5 College Freshman

Academics: I am an Art Major and love every second of it.

5 College Freshman

Administration: Would not have it any other way.

College Freshman

Technology: I provided my own lap top, so I do not know much about the computers at my school.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I have not met anyone who attends this college and drinks or smokes. We have strict rules and it is apart of our Honor Code to follow those set rules.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Rarely hear of anything bad happening to anyone, I personally have always felt safe.

College Freshman

Majors: I have not had a internship yet.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Not too many majors but enough to find an area that your interested in.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It really depends where you live, but I have only had good experiences so far.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: I love Rexburg. There is something special about being surrounded by thousands of people with the same gospel foundation. Living there has truly made me a happier person.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: we have an excellent selection of reasturants and dine-ins most all of them close at midnight and all of them have terrible service an the food generally stinks

3 College Freshman

Local Area: the town is basically run by the college life and has benefited from it in some degrees. Idaho has more outdoor attractions than anything else.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
