Academics: I haven't decided on a major, but the school provides many opportunities for all kinds of majors.

Academics: It seems like most professors genuinely care for their students. The curriculum and workload is a lot harder than most schools, but I know I am getting a quality education.

Campus Quality: The campus is very well kept and provides many resources for students.

Local Area: Rexburg is such a small town. College students make up a majority of the population. There isn't anything special about this town that I would stay for after graduating.

Guys & Girls: The people at this school share the same views as me. I find that really helpful when it comes to making friends. I think it's also great how people come from all over the country to attend this school.

Health & Safety: The town is very small and seems to be safe. There are campus police and the campus is well lit at night. There are also emergency buttons throughout campus.

Overall Experience: If I could do it all over again, I would choose the same school. I love this school and it has helped me to grow as a person.

Overall Experience: I am happy with the college I chose. It's a great university.

Overall Experience: This school does a great job of providing students with resources and job opportunities.

1 College Junior

Greek Life: The Greek Life does not exist at this school.

Athletics: The downside to this school is that there are no organized sports. It's all intramural. That being said, the facilities for students are great. They have huge fields for sports and the largest gym I've used. They provide tons of equipment for students to stay active.

Off-Campus Housing: After living off-campus, I can say first had that it's the best option for students at BYUI. It's a lot more social than the dorms considering that most students live off-campus. It's a good walking distance from campus as well.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: The off-campus dining mainly consists of fast food chain places, but places like the Taco Bus and Costa Vida make up for it.

3 College Junior

Administration: I understand this is a private institution and I agreed to the rules, but to me they seem a little over the top. We are adults.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: I had a few issues receiving some scholarships, but it wasn't the school's fault. The financial aid team responds to emails in timely manner and is very helpful.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: The fact that there is no alcohol/drugs here makes it great. Parties here are very social. The only downfall is curfew.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: The food at the Crossroads is great. The recently added Chick-fil-a which is my personal favorite.

2 College Junior

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus, but from what I hear it's the worst place to live. The buildings are out of date, crowded, and don't have as many amenities as off campus housing.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I have only lived off-campus and that's all I will ever do. I have nothing but good things to say about it. There are more social places, and less social places. It's all up to what you are looking for.

Off-Campus Dining: Since Rexburg is such a small town, there are not that many off-campus dining options. But the variety is decent for how small Rexburg is.

Administration: I understand the importance of the honor code. Therefore, I comply to it. I appreciate the honor code and the environment it brings to the school. It makes the experience more enjoyable.

Scholarships: I have never had any financial aids or scholarships, so I wouldn't know.

Party Scene: It's the best for faithful LDS students. If you like to partake in illegal activities, this is not the place to be. You will be kicked out for partaking in these activities.

Campus Food: The food quality is great. The prices are not expensive, although they're not cheap. They are what is to be expected.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I have not ever lived on campus. I have heard good things and bad things. Good: it is close to classes. Bad: the rules are very strict.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
