4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The atmosphere can be a little difficult to get used to. It's very fast-paced in schooling, but there isn't a whole lot to do in little Rexburg. The winters are brutal! The teachers are wonderful, though: very understanding and willing to help you as much as they can.

Overall Experience: I love BYU-Idaho! There's a spirit of learning at this college that is unlike most other schools. The professors really care about helping you learn rather than just memorizing the information. They are willing to help and work with students as needed. Campus is pretty easy to get around and those on campus are friendly. There are great scholarship opportunities and you truly get what you pay for. If you're looking for a wholesome college experience, I would always recommend Brigham Young University-Idaho!

Overall Experience: Some professors are very enthusiastic and helpful while others are just there because it's a job.

Overall Experience: I see a lot of internship opportunities come through my email.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I'm not familiar with anyone being assaulted physically or sexually on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Pretty easy and straightforward, just have to get an ecclesiastical endorsement.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: I believe we just have intramural sports so there's not a ton of school spirit or anything.

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: very limited, almost nothing going on most nights.

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: almost non-existant, almost nothing going on most nights.

3 College Freshman

Academics: There are a lot of general studies, but no in depth specialized degrees.

5 College Student

Diversity: There are so many international students on campus. They come from all over the world; literally.

3 College Student

Drug Safety: It is hard to find drugs and alcohol, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

Overall Experience: The professors care and they are available to you whenever you need them.

2 College Freshman

Athletics: As Brigham Young University Idaho is a satellite school they do not focus on the athletics. But they are always providing different clubs and intramural sports to get everyone involved.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: As a student at Brigham Young University Idaho I have found the help I needed from the professors and the students as I am able to grow both academically and spiritually. I am very pleased and am anxious to go back.

Overall Experience: BYU-Idaho is a great school. The professors really care about their students and that atmosphere is irreplaceable. I feel like I have grown by leaps and bounds since arriving there. My education has leaped forward because of BYU-Idaho. I am definitely grateful I am attending school here.

Health & Safety: The school has high standards and regulations that should prevent sexual assault. If you go looking for trouble you will find it. If the place seems "off" just leave. Use the buddy system.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: Even with classes that I did not like, the professors were great and made learning interesting (not easier though).

3 College Student

Overall Experience: I think it's okay. The school has lots of opportunities to do internships, study abroad, and other resources.

4 College Student

Campus Housing: The place I had was in the middle of the price range which was perfect for me. The apartments were nice and the girls were nicer. No matter the quality of the apartments, it's your roommates who make or break the experience.

3 College Student

Greek Life: I don't think BYU-I has a Greek Life. At least not that I know of. Maybe I live under a rock or something.

2 College Student

Athletics: The reason I rated this one so low is because BYU-I does not have a school team. I love athletics and would love to go watch a college game but I have to travel all the way to ISU and pay to get in. But the intramural are amazing! They do a great job with them.

5 College Student

Overall Experience: If I could, I would keep studying at BYU-I because the professors really are there for you. They help you as much as they can and the school provides so many resources to help you succeed not just in school but for the rest of your life.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: We don't have any official sports teams. We just have co-ed games that don't even last for the whole semester.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It's super easy to make friends if you are willing to talk to your roommates and expand from there!

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
