Health & Safety: The school has high standards and regulations that should prevent sexual assault. If you go looking for trouble you will find it. If the place seems "off" just leave. Use the buddy system.

Overall Experience: Even with classes that I did not like, the professors were great and made learning interesting (not easier though).

3 College Student

Overall Experience: I think it's okay. The school has lots of opportunities to do internships, study abroad, and other resources.

Campus Housing: The place I had was in the middle of the price range which was perfect for me. The apartments were nice and the girls were nicer. No matter the quality of the apartments, it's your roommates who make or break the experience.

Greek Life: I don't think BYU-I has a Greek Life. At least not that I know of. Maybe I live under a rock or something.

Athletics: The reason I rated this one so low is because BYU-I does not have a school team. I love athletics and would love to go watch a college game but I have to travel all the way to ISU and pay to get in. But the intramural are amazing! They do a great job with them.

5 College Student

Overall Experience: If I could, I would keep studying at BYU-I because the professors really are there for you. They help you as much as they can and the school provides so many resources to help you succeed not just in school but for the rest of your life.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: We don't have any official sports teams. We just have co-ed games that don't even last for the whole semester.

Overall Experience: It's super easy to make friends if you are willing to talk to your roommates and expand from there!

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: There seem to be many great options about career exploration and help available.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: It's college rooming, so nothing too fancy but I like it if you have good friends and a good price for rent!

3 College Junior

Greek Life: BYU-I dosen't really attract students interested in Frat's and Parties so yeah, not a big deal.

3 College Junior

Athletics: I am dissapointed BYU-I does not have a sports team besides intramurals.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: BYU-I seems to bring academic learning and spiritual growth into focus as their main priorities for their students.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Like I said I'm here to study, work, study, and grow. It's a fine, small town college.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Couldn't honestly say. The people I know that graduate from here usually stick around because they serve their internship in the area.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: It's neither good, nor bad. It's okay.

2 College Junior

Campus Housing: It's way too expensive. There's no need whatsoever to pay for all the extra things to be added to housing.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Honestly, it's college. I study, I work, and I study.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: 90+% of the teacher/teaching situations have been excellant

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I don't know how to answer this

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: This school is very religious. There will always be little problems, but this is one of the best schools in the country for morals

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
