4 College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had one but I have researched a few and they seem quite good and reasonable.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The process to get accepted to this school is very vigorous and strict about substance abuse which should not have used even before attending.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: I would say I like it because I do not like the hustle and bustle of big cities and there is still things to do in Rexburg.

Off-Campus Housing: I have not lived off campus but friends have told me they like it a lot and that it has more freedoms.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I didn't know there were Greeks at this school????

4 College Sophomore

Weather: I think that it is pretty darn good for being there in the fall or spring but at times it can be windy or cold.

Off-Campus Dining: I think that the off campus eating is fine although I do not dine out much.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: I think that the tolerance for other diverse people is great I just think that there is not a huge amount of diversity to begin with.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Since this is an LDS school there are very strict rules for night time including a curfew and for both genders in the dorms. Off campus housing must be approved with pretty much the same rules.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Because the campus is above most of the city of Rexburg this makes me fill a lot more safe as most outsiders would have to come specifically to the campus. The campus itself has high standards which would eliminate most situations that would be unsafe.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Even though BYUI is not competitive with its sports the sports it does are still invigorating and fun for most any who participate. I think this is great because academics are the real focus of the campus but the sports provide a break too.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The scholarships I have applied for fairly easily but they were not very personal.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: I did not know of any transportation other than a bike which is good for exercise.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: As far as I can tell the dorms look very well kept.

Majors: For being a small school with not as many students as other universities have, there are so many options that are offered. In this way, many people can go here and it makes the school diverse and exciting for everyone.

Majors: For my major, there was no application process so that was a stress reliever for me. Admission is very self explanatory on the website and I found that it is a breeze to go through. Love it!

Local Area: There isn't a plethora of things to do in this tiny down, 45 minutes away from any other bigger town. Although while in school, there is often no time to do anything else. There are lots of nature hikes to go on and things to explore though which is what I really enjoy doing. I also love what the school provides for students to do. I am always doing something here!

Weather: The weather is my only drawback to the school. It's freezing during the winter and for the second half of fall - which is when I am usually attending. But Spring is beautiful and the school comes up with all these different things that students can do.

Academics: Most professors that I have had here are phenomenal and they make me want to learn more than I ever thought I could. It's a great blessing in my life to belong to this school and grow in it.

Off-Campus Housing: There are so many different options and places to live that there is a spot for everyone's budget and wallet. This is the second biggest spending that students do in Rexburg and it's important to choose one that will fit everyone's needs and wants - which Rexburg does stupendously. Plus the school makes it easy with providing a list to choose from along with their web links, what they offer, and prices.

3 College Junior

Parking: Parking is what I hear is the most frustrating to students on campus. The school is growing every day with more students and more buildings so it's hard to place parking locations while it's expanding within itself. There is hardly any room to grow but it's happening anyways.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: I know of people who drink sometimes off campus but for the most part, this is the cleanest school when it comes to drugs and alcohol and I love how safe and secure I feel everyday because of that.

Party Scene: Rexburg is a really safe place so I never have to worry about walking around at night with friends and just having a good time going out on the town or just staying up late in the apartment with a bunch of friends.

5 College Junior

Athletics: There are so many options offered here that I can barely decide what I want to do each day! I love that even though we don't play sports with other schools, our athletic department is so diverse and there are options for everyone, regardless of their ability level.

Off-Campus Dining: There is always a place that is open where I am craving to eat. I am amazed at the variety that is in this little town, although I am not able to eat out often because it is more expensive than making my own meal.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
