3 College Junior

Transportation: No public transportation, however stores are in walking range.

5 College Junior

Diversity: Great place and great environment.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Its great because we dont have to worry about wild crazy drunken parties. People still know how to have fun without that stuff. Lots of people just get together and hang out with friends.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The Honor code prevents anyone from really partaking in any of that stuff. Its really pretty nice to live in an environment where that isn't a problem

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The apartments are very plain, but its a nice location! They are pretty affordable. and the people there are generally pretty nice!

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Its pretty good and has many opportunities for a variety of job internship and experience.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had one but I have researched a few and they seem quite good and reasonable.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The process to get accepted to this school is very vigorous and strict about substance abuse which should not have used even before attending.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: I would say I like it because I do not like the hustle and bustle of big cities and there is still things to do in Rexburg.

Off-Campus Housing: I have not lived off campus but friends have told me they like it a lot and that it has more freedoms.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I didn't know there were Greeks at this school????

4 College Sophomore

Weather: I think that it is pretty darn good for being there in the fall or spring but at times it can be windy or cold.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I think that the off campus eating is fine although I do not dine out much.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: I think that the tolerance for other diverse people is great I just think that there is not a huge amount of diversity to begin with.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Since this is an LDS school there are very strict rules for night time including a curfew and for both genders in the dorms. Off campus housing must be approved with pretty much the same rules.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Because the campus is above most of the city of Rexburg this makes me fill a lot more safe as most outsiders would have to come specifically to the campus. The campus itself has high standards which would eliminate most situations that would be unsafe.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Even though BYUI is not competitive with its sports the sports it does are still invigorating and fun for most any who participate. I think this is great because academics are the real focus of the campus but the sports provide a break too.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The scholarships I have applied for fairly easily but they were not very personal.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: I did not know of any transportation other than a bike which is good for exercise.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: As far as I can tell the dorms look very well kept.

4 College Junior

Majors: For being a small school with not as many students as other universities have, there are so many options that are offered. In this way, many people can go here and it makes the school diverse and exciting for everyone.

Majors: For my major, there was no application process so that was a stress reliever for me. Admission is very self explanatory on the website and I found that it is a breeze to go through. Love it!

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
