Off-Campus Dining: There are your typical fast food places like McDonald's, Taco Bell, Subway etc. There are other restaurants such as Applebee's and Wingers. If you want other options you have to go to Idaho Falls for more options which is a half hour away.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: All you have to do is fill out the FASFA and they get back to you fast. The financial aid office will also notify you if you qualify for scholarships.

Guys & Girls: For being a church school. Everyone is friendly but the dress is lacking in the standards that these students have. You do see some that are very stuck-up but once you get to them they are very kind.

4 College Senior

Campus Quality: Everyone on campus is very friendly. There are always places to go to hang out with friends or to meet for study groups. There are many places if you want to study outside that you can. There are always activities going on such as dances, concerts, and plays. I recommend this school to anyone who wants small class sizes and one on one help from teachers along with free tutoring.

4 College Senior

Majors: Internships are easy to find. They have an office that is just for internships. They are willing to work with you so that you can get the internship that you want.

5 College Senior

Majors: There are no difficulties to get into the program that I am in. You do not need to apply to the program you just have to start taking the classes and your in.

4 College Senior

Academics: Business majors are the ones that are seen as salesmen on campus. The great part about being a business major is the IBC program.

4 College Senior

Academics: Classes aren't too bad if you show up and do the homework. Teachers are very willing to work with students one on one outside of class.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: I wish that they would be able to help the students that stay all year round all 3 semesters.

Off-Campus Dining: Rexburg is a very small town. You have Applebee's, Wingers, and Costa Vida and Pizza Pie Cafe as you're dine in options.

1 College Senior

Campus Food: Campus dining has always been a bad joke on campus. Food is pretty gross but it is the only option when you're stuck on campus all day.

3 College Senior

Diversity: There is not much diversity that is at our campus. We all believe the same things and respond in the same way.

Administration: I personally don't mind how strict the admin is with the honor code. People that attend here said they would abide by the rules when they applied.

2 College Senior

Party Scene: Nightlife is practically non existent in Rexburg. All the dance parties end before the town curfew.

1 College Senior

Local Area: The locals in this town do not like how much the school has taken over the town. Some of the elderly people are very nice but the younger generations of people there are very cold towards the college students.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: The security on campus is pretty good. There is always someone on campus making sure that rules and the honor code are followed.

2 College Senior

Campus Housing: Most people that go to school here do not live on campus. On campus living is like living with your parents. The white glove checks and the housing people make living in the dorms miserable.

Administration: The honor code is generally enforced. Although...it is really up to the students to choose whether or not they will abide by the honor code. Sometimes students get away with small things...like flip flops on campus.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: Depending on who you hang out with...the nightlife varies. Groups of friends do a variety of different things. Many students go out to the sand dunes or do other outdoor activities. There are not many places to go at night since everything closes kind of early...but if you are creative and can have fun no matter what you are doing....then you will love it!

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: The housing complexes off campus can be a little more expensive, but if you prefer a little more freedom, your own bedroom, a kitchen, and such...then it is worth it. The housing units are kept decently clean and are very affordable compared to housing on other college campuses.

4 College Junior

Local Area: The parks are beautiful and well maintained. Local events are enjoyable. Locals are friendly. This town is a safe, friendly, and pleasant environment.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Parties are held on campus to keep living quarters quiet and peaceful. They are a positive impact on the students because they are clean and they are great social experiences.

Administration: The rules for attending Brigham Young university-Idaho are very strict, and that is why our campus is harmonious and safe.

Off-Campus Dining: The town is small, so there isn't a huge variety, but many places will give student discounts.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
