Administration: You are are accepted to the school you sign an honor code that says that you will dress modestly and will not consume alcohol and drug use. If you violate any of these you are sent home. This honor code also covers not being in the room of someone of the opposite sex. There are also curfew hours that are set so that everyone maintains the honor code.

Campus Food: They do offer fixed meal plans. You can also put money on your student card and use that so you are not on a fixed plan. They have a variety of different places to eat that are delicious and are filling for the price you pay.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: The school will help you connect with alumni that are in your field so that you can get all the help you can get. They also have students that call out to the new incoming students to help them prepare for collage life.

Overall Experience: I have loved every minute of this campus. They make it easy to succeed they help you through everything.

Academics: My major is Recreation Management. For this major we are always outside doing things or in the classroom doing hands on activities. The work load if light compared to other majors. With this major there are many options for jobs and internships. The Professors are also willing to work with you to help you succeed in what you need to get done.

5 College Senior

Academics: The registration process was really easy. The workload is a prepare before you go to class so that you can contribute to the discussion. There are many ways to succeed in this school. They offer tutor centers that are free for the students. They also have quite study areas so that if you need quite they in force it.

Off-Campus Dining: There are your typical fast food places like McDonald's, Taco Bell, Subway etc. There are other restaurants such as Applebee's and Wingers. If you want other options you have to go to Idaho Falls for more options which is a half hour away.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: All you have to do is fill out the FASFA and they get back to you fast. The financial aid office will also notify you if you qualify for scholarships.

Guys & Girls: For being a church school. Everyone is friendly but the dress is lacking in the standards that these students have. You do see some that are very stuck-up but once you get to them they are very kind.

4 College Senior

Campus Quality: Everyone on campus is very friendly. There are always places to go to hang out with friends or to meet for study groups. There are many places if you want to study outside that you can. There are always activities going on such as dances, concerts, and plays. I recommend this school to anyone who wants small class sizes and one on one help from teachers along with free tutoring.

4 College Senior

Majors: Internships are easy to find. They have an office that is just for internships. They are willing to work with you so that you can get the internship that you want.

5 College Senior

Majors: There are no difficulties to get into the program that I am in. You do not need to apply to the program you just have to start taking the classes and your in.

4 College Senior

Academics: Business majors are the ones that are seen as salesmen on campus. The great part about being a business major is the IBC program.

4 College Senior

Academics: Classes aren't too bad if you show up and do the homework. Teachers are very willing to work with students one on one outside of class.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: I wish that they would be able to help the students that stay all year round all 3 semesters.

Off-Campus Dining: Rexburg is a very small town. You have Applebee's, Wingers, and Costa Vida and Pizza Pie Cafe as you're dine in options.

1 College Senior

Campus Food: Campus dining has always been a bad joke on campus. Food is pretty gross but it is the only option when you're stuck on campus all day.

3 College Senior

Diversity: There is not much diversity that is at our campus. We all believe the same things and respond in the same way.

3 College Senior

Administration: I personally don't mind how strict the admin is with the honor code. People that attend here said they would abide by the rules when they applied.

2 College Senior

Party Scene: Nightlife is practically non existent in Rexburg. All the dance parties end before the town curfew.

1 College Senior

Local Area: The locals in this town do not like how much the school has taken over the town. Some of the elderly people are very nice but the younger generations of people there are very cold towards the college students.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: The security on campus is pretty good. There is always someone on campus making sure that rules and the honor code are followed.

2 College Senior

Campus Housing: Most people that go to school here do not live on campus. On campus living is like living with your parents. The white glove checks and the housing people make living in the dorms miserable.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
