5 College Freshman

Academics: Fun and able to achieve success, yet challenging enough to learn and grow.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: No better, safer place to go to school and study.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Small classes, caring professors, overall great learning environment.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I feel like people tend to hire graduates from BYU Idaho because they are hard working, dedicated, and have high standards. We are honest and kind.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Its average. Nothing special, but it can be miserable if you don't make an effort to participate with people and reach out.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The school focuses on having a good, healthy living environment and relationship with roommates. It is a very thriving atmosphere where students feel safe, social and are able to focus on studies.

1 College Junior

Greek Life: We don't have fraternities or sororities.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I really like the school, because it's got a self driven learning emphasis. They do certain things like formulating exam questions to benefit those who studied and understand the material so that we as students are more likely to ready and actually apply ourselves rather than google answers and not really commit the material to memory. They are trying to build is up to actually use the knowledge we gain here to benefit ourselves and the world in which we will work. I also really like the atmosphere, because it is a church school there is an honor code and a level of professionalism that is to be maintained by the faculty and students here. If I had the choice again I would decide to attend BYUI but maybe just not in the winter.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Because it is a small school, they don't focus a lot on varsity teams and games. But there are a lot of sporting activities that you can participate in and the facilities are decent.

Overall Experience: BYU Idaho is a great school!! It is a very warm and sociable safe environment. The professors are kind and caring and want their students to succeed. The classes are fun and informative. Truly a place that not only expands and helps you grow in your career, but as a whole it helps you become the person you want to be and grow in body and spirit.

It it however, in the small town of rexburh Idaho, so there is not much to do and it gets very cold and windy!

But I think that the wonderful schooling experience is worth the cold and lack of excitement in such a small town :)

3 College Junior

Athletics: There are intramural sports like football and soccer etc, but they don't get much of a turn out. People aren't pumped about the "big game" on the weekends. It's not much of a sport school. BYU-Idaho has more of an emphasis on scholarly studies. So there is a lacking in the sports a d fitness aspect of the school or in some cases a lack of.

5 College Senior

Campus Housing: So I actually don't live on campus, but I have been by the dorms and they are brand new. Very nice and pristine!

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: I would choose this school again in a heartbeat. I love the spirit of the university and how people have a strong desire to learn because the instructors/ professors care so much for the one.

4 College Senior

Athletics: Our university is a teaching university and it does not have a school varsity sports setting. It is a university where we have intermural sports, but no team. We do have a very big gym where there are 10 basketball courts, a main gym, and a big room with a lot of workout equipment.

5 College Freshman

Academics: BYU Idaho cares about each student and the person as a whole.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Professors genuinely care about each of their students.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I'm not exactly positive about job/internship prospects since I am an online student.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus. I am an online student so this does not apply to me.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't know how to answer these questions since I live at home and take classes online.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I loved the Pathway program through BYU Idaho. I have taken two classes post Pathway and hope to pursue other classes and study in the future. A scholarship would help in that endeavor.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: I am an online student so a lot of these questions don't really apply.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: Just heard about good things.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel completely safe and happy on and off campus. The students value and honor the honor code and everyone is always there to help you if you need it.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: My first semester at BYU-Idaho I must say was a complete success. I learned quickly that college is nothing like high-school the students are put to higher standards. The student is in charge if how much you learn and get from each course. No matter how hard the course may be like Chem 105 the professors are always there to help. Also the free tutoring lab is amazing. You can get so much help you just have to make the appointments and take the initiative. Student activities are always wholesome and very interactive you do not get bored.

Overall Experience: Every major at BYU-Idaho is given there own importance. With each prospecting career there are many seminars that help you know what you are getting yourself into and know what should be your next step. They also help with the interview process so that when you need to do it you are prepared. There are many internships that you can get through the school.

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
