4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Much is done to ensure that students receive the help they need with career help

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I lived at Centre Square and I loved the apartments. They were well taken care of and came with great amenities.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Even though we don't have a football team, there are still many many opportunities for involvement in intramural sports!

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Everyone on campus is just so friendly. The professors really care about you! I love BYUI

5 College Freshman

Academics: The academics here are amazing. There are a variety of classes to take, the grading is easy and simple, and the professors are amazing. The whole system is very well connected and the teachers do their best to work with the students.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: There isn't a lot of diversity here on campus. The most diverse it gets it international students and students of all kinds of different races.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There are no forms of drugs here on campus. It is against the Honor Code, and most of the students here have spent most of their lives avoiding drugs, so there is no way of it getting onto campus, unless it is a person who is not a student of the school had ill intentions.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The safety of this school is amazing. There is such a spirit here, where each student is willing to help another. The health facilities hear are up to date and top-notch. They give meaningful help and check up on the students often. The programs here that train students in health & safety is great.

Overall Experience: My classes are amazing. I love the style and I love their teaching methods. The professors are very understanding, and they were hard with us, the students, to learn everything we can and to understand the class.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Even though this is a religious school, its a full 4-year university and gives the students a lot of opportunities after graduation. I'm not sure if anybody would be biased because we are a religious school, but it is still education.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love living in my housing complex. The leaders of the complex do a lot for the residents, and they offer a lot of treats and activities. The rooms are beautifully spacious and comfy, and there is convenience everywhere. The only downside is where the housing is, its up on a hill, a little ways from campus.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: There is an amazing gym and exercise facility here, but there are no competitive sports. There are a lot of classes, programs, and athletic activities here though, and they are a lot of fun.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love this school very much. All the students are very friendly and the teachers are very friendly. The homework is do-able and it prepares us very well for the lesson in class.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Though it is not perfect, and there are still crimes in the area, BYU-I does the best it can to keep its students safe by setting rules and guidelines for the students to follow. Also, because of the religious beliefs of many of the students it is much more unlikely that the students will fall to alcohol and assault someone or be assaulted. Overall, I feel extremely safe on campus, but I still prefer to walk with one other person in the dark of the night.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: The professors are always willing to listen, and they give the best possible education they can. With the courses, you get out of it what you put into it, so really you learn as you study. There are a great many courses offered, and with the new online courses you don't even have to go to class. The class sizes vary based on the level of study and how many students are signed up for it, but typically you will find about 30 students in one class setting.

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: I technically live in an apartment close to campus, so I don't know much about the dorms, but there are many options on where to live, and the one I live in is one of the best complexes I've ever been in. It's clean, the manager is friendly, and it's very close to campus and close to the grocery store as well.

1 College Junior

Greek Life: As far as I know, it's non-existent. I haven't heard of any sororities or fraternities on campus, and honestly I don't find that to be a bad thing. Depending on where you live, you will have roommates you can bond with and spend time with just like how you would with a sorority or fraternity. It's just less-formal.

3 College Junior

Athletics: We don't really have official teams, so there is no competition with other schools to get the school spirit up, but some people do organize clubs, and there are plenty who exercise and play sports for fun.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I think I am truly blessed to be in such a school. Not only is the education phenomenal for the price, but everyone, including the students and professors, are truly wonderful and unique. Sometimes you may feel the required general studies classes are unnecessary for your major, but each one teaches necessary skills for life, and the teachers make sure to show you that. Overall, a wonderful school and I would recommend it to anyone.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: This campus is very safe and ensures everyone is home at curfew and is safe and sound

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The courses are interesting and the professors really care about your learning at the school.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I would love to get a degree here and be able to further myself in getting a career through their options

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I loved living at the Centre Square Apartment! The people there are very friendly and we always have fun social events there

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: We don't really live a Greek life

3 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletics at my school aren't a huge deal but they have lots of intramurals that a lot of people like to participate in. Being part of a sports team here is another way to meet new people and is more of a fun and social event.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
