Local Area: I love living in Rexburg, Idaho while I am attending school. The people are great and the area is beautiful. There is much to do here and the university has many activities during the semester.

Guys & Girls: They are nice, well dressed, and you don't see things you wouldn't want to!:)

Off-Campus Dining: There are a ton of options close by and they're not extremely expensive either!

Off-Campus Housing: There are tons of options and they are all fairly priced. Some places it can be more expensive, but that all depends on taste.

3 College Student

Party Scene: I myself am not a partier, but I hear all about them and they seem fun!

4 College Student

Athletics: The school seems to have a big support for athletics, the hart building is well equipt and fun to use!

Campus Housing: I love where I live, but it could be a little more affordable.

Academics: Academics are very important here so classes are taught to the best of the teachers ability.

Majors: I love my major and for the majority of my classes the teachers are great as well!

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus. I have never heard of a case of sexual assault.

Local Area: Painfully remote is the perfect way to describe Rexburg. There is literally nothing to do except go to FatCats to see a movie or bowl. The next main city (Idaho Falls) is 30 minutes away in a car, and there's very little to do there as well. The best thing to be if you go to BYUI is an outdoorsman, but even then you have to travel far and wide.

Party Scene: I would say that the majority of the parties are in off-campus apartments and obviously void of alcohol and drugs, but full of mountain dew drinking games (why, I don't know) and kissing random people because that's what Mormons do for fun apparently. The lamest parties happen on campus. But let's be honest, they're all fairly lame.

Administration: The school has an extremely strict honor code, but that's a good thing! It helps us to be better people.

Off-Campus Housing: I love where I have lived off campus. Some of the pros include having great roommates, a clean house, a good price, and a lot of perks. I have always felt safe, there are always parking spots at the places I've lived, etc.

Overall Experience: People who graduate from BYU-Idaho typically find a job quickly.

Health & Safety: I had to call upon the safety and security measures of campus to help with a roommate who was suicidal. They responded quickly and did what they could to help her get some counseling.

Overall Experience: When I actively participated in classroom discussions I learned the most. Being open to talking to professors gave me a better education as well.

Academics: The academics are rigorous, but not as competitive as at other schools. Professors are kind and helpful, and have office hours to help students outside of class. There are many study areas and tutors available. Registration is not too difficult, and the work is good.

Local Area: There is not a lot to do in Rexburg. It is small enough to walk places, and with friends you can find fun things to do. Attractions include local movie theaters and parks. There are not a lot of places to shop, unless you drive to a nearby city.

Party Scene: There are not a lot of parties. Some events take place, and small groups of students often get together, but I usually don't leave my complex. We have small groups of friends hanging out.

Health & Safety: There is some campus crime, but it is not a huge problem. We often leave our door unlocked when we go out. There is security around campus, and it is safe to walk around alone. The campus is contained and few people are out after dark, but it is well lit, so there is little worry.

Majors: The program is specifically designed to help students succeed. The faculty is all willing to help and has experience in the field. The program provide hands-on experience and chances to actively learn. The workload is enough to get students working, but not overwhelm. Some facilities could be improved.

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
