Majors: I think that the English major here is very well organized and created to for the student's interest. There are more than 1 templates to make sure that you get all of your classes for you major finished, and you can have a lot of choice. The teachers are great and understanding, so you are able to accomplish your class work without much difficulty. There are some concerns about finding a job for an English major, but not that many. I would like to be a journalist, but I can do so many things with English and therefore all I really need is to do well and know where to look.

Parking: Parking is a fairly reasonable price, and there are normally available parking spots. However, those who do not have a permit who park there are usually discovered and booted with a $60 fine extremely fast. Depending on how often the parking enforcers are out, you could be booted within 10 minutes.

Off-Campus Housing: The apartments in Rexburg are pretty cheap, especially compared to other Universities. There are a lot of apartments close to campus, however it is a little bit difficult to find one if you are a girl. You need to plan ahead about 2 months in advance or more if you want to guarantee a spot. Most of them are really well kept and also furnished though which is nice.

Administration: The BYUI has an honor code where you have to be honest, modest, moral, drug and alcohol free, professional, clean, and help others live up to their commitments.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Financial aid is pretty easy to get. I received a scholarship I didn't even apply for.

5 College Student

Parking: I can always find parking and its very reasonably priced.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am really happy with my program it has a lot of good job opportunities and the teacher are really helpful. Also I would choose my profession again because it is something that I am interested in and that it has been a good experience.

Athletics: The athletics here at BYUI are mostly recreational and there are not many huge college sports but that makes participating in the sports easier to get on a team and it is more fun to play.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: There isn't public transportation or many places to park, but everything is in walking distance. There are also plenty of bike racks available.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Very social and entertaining. You have cheaper options as well as more expensive options. My personal favorite is the cheap theater right by campus!

Campus Quality: I think are campus is unique in that we don't wear shorts or flip flops to campus. There are other things that fall into our honor code but rules like that I really like because we actually have to get ready for the day and present ourselves well. We can't wear sweats either so everyday you get up and get ready and it helps you to feel better about yourself and have a good attitude about learning for that day. Having the Spirit here all the time, if you let it, also helps with having a happy atmosphere. Our tutoring is also free so if you need help with a subject you just sign up and they only way you pay is if you don't show up for your tutor time.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: We don't have all that drinking business here but that's okay because we make our own fun and remember it the next day. There is open land to play it, caves and hiking places. Many sports going on that you can join and really there is something new each and every night so you can get a taste of everything. You can go country dancing one night and then Latin dancing the next night.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: There is a student calendar we have that tells you what is going on each day/night. It is almost impossible not to get involved, there really is something for everyone. They have Zumba and RAD and a lot of different sports you can play. Also have a chess club and game nights if you wanted to go. If you are into something you really might be able to find it on campus.

5 College Student

Drug Safety: The honor code prevents a lot of drug use. There are still those who break it and do drugs, but you never hear of them unless you go actively looking for them.

4 College Student

Campus Housing: Overall the dorms are pretty nice. The only real downside is the mandatory clean checks each week to make sure you're keeping the place tidy. Not everyone has time for that. However, this does prevent your dorm from turning into a dump.

Guys & Girls: Both guys and girls here are really nice! Generally if you ask someone on a date they'll say yes the first time, though the second depends on how the first one goes. The guys are really cute and very kind! There's a few rednecks, but otherwise pretty nice. The girls seem to be more on the shy level, but super sweet. You don't meet too many stuck-up girls here.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I am very happy with the programs here. I enjoy the professors willingness to help and everything.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: If you are looking for drinking you won;t find to much here but we make our own night life.

3 College Freshman

Weather: I hate mother nature especially because it blows here the whole time meaning the wind. Also I hate winter but when it's warm its so nice

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Oh my goodness the dining here is so great. Most of the places are what people would call hole in the walls but they have perfected the art of making their foods. Everything you want you can find and it's amazing

5 College Junior

Administration: They are extremely strict about anything and everything.

3 College Freshman

Weather: I had the Fall and Winter trimester, and it is overall pretty awesome. It can get pretty cold, however I am slowly adapting to the weather. It's pretty awesome to wear winter clothes and the campus is always prepared for the weather change. Snow is always plowed at least daily on the walk ways. I hear that spring is beautiful and hot!

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: This is in fact a LDS college where an honor code is implied. Although there are students here and there who are not drug free, there is a rare sign of drugs on campus. Overall, there isn't a high pressure to do drugs because of the standards of most of the students here.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I've only heard bad things about the dorms here at BYU-Idaho. They have very few, and not very many people stay in them. And they have a really early curfew, and if you're not in by that time, you're locked out.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I'm a Biology Education Major at BYU-Idaho, and I love all of the classes I'm taking. The education classes are so inspiring, and the Science classes are what I love to do! The school helps a lot with applying for internships.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
