Overall Experience: So far, I am absolutely loving BYUI. You get out of life what you put in...But at Brigham Young University, I've been given so much more that what I bargained for. There is always an opportunity to be a part of new experiences. And all for the best price, thanks to faithful tithe payers. I'd recommend the school to anyone, especially those wanting to become a better disciple of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Overall Experience: the school has cut several majors and programs without letting the students know and without any compensation or help.

Health & Safety: I have not had any problems with the health and safety on campus. They do have stations on campus that you can press a button for immediate help of any harm coming to you.

Overall Experience: I've had a class size with about 100 students and I've had one with 15 students. They both were not terrible but the professor made all the difference. I've had both good and bad professors. I like a teacher who is willing to take time to teach you and care about you not one who is a know it all. I've had a great time with the students they all are very fun and outgoing.

Overall Experience: I have not gotten to the point yet where I need to experience internships. I've heard that it is pretty easy to go through the school and get an internship. Being a teaching major I will not have to hard of a time student teaching.

Campus Housing: The housing can vary widely. It depends on where you choose to live whether you want more introvert friends and neighbors or very social butterflies! The houses are very clean and are cleaned every 3 months or so. Also depending on how much you pay is how many perks and how much space you have.

Athletics: We do not have any large varsity college sports. Our school only has intramurals but they offer a very big variety of different kinds of sports to be a part of. I enjoy the opportunity to also learn new sports and play with both guys and girls on the team.

Overall Experience: I work on campus and have seen the work that goes in to help all the students receive an education. I really love how social the school is too, everyone loves talking and getting to know people! It is a great environment where I have never felt scared or in fear of my safety. It also is close to home which helps me not get too home sick. There's also a very big variety of people so it is not hard to find a group of people that have the same likes and taste.

Health & Safety: There has never been an issue with me or anyone I know of with any of these topics. The only thing would be living a few more blocks away from campus and not locking your doors when you're the last to leave the apartment.

Overall Experience: I think for me, every class and professor are different. I've had some professors that I feel they make it a huge discussion type setting because they don't know what they are exactly teaching about and so thats when I feel like I'm not getting anything out of the class. Class sizes are average, the education courses really get one on one experience with the teachers and so that helps when you're applying for jobs and letters of recommendation. Its just hard to find them.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I'm not to the point of needed to find a job and intern yet but I'm hoping to be there within the next semester or two. Because the semesters are so short here, its hard to really find teachers that can help with prospect and finding a real world job. I haven't really noticed any recruiting going on campus because its all by who you know here.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I'm sure that everywhere could get better at housing options. Rexburg is currently in the process of making huge hotel like apartments and tearing down the old ones so there is a lot of construction going on.

Greek Life: We don't have greek life BYU-IDAHO

Athletics: We have no athletic programs that are on the variety level.. There is sports that you can join for fun so its not an actual event that everyone in the school knows about.

Overall Experience: My school is an LDS associated school so everything is related to the gospel here. It sometimes makes it difficult to believe you're earning the correct education that will help in the field you plan to major in.

5 College Senior

Health & Safety: I never feel unsafe or in danger on or around campus.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I've had such a great experience at BYUI so far, Course and professor quality is very good.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: There are many intern opportunities available for students, though on campus jobs are difficult to get.

Campus Housing: Living on campus has been great! The people living there have great standards and values. It's a fairly reasonable price, with great location.

4 College Senior

Athletics: This university doesn't have Varsity sports, but there is a wide variety of intramural sports which are really well organized and have many participants.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: Great experiences and opportunities have come from attending my university.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
