4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The professors are good people and most go above and beyond what they're asked to do.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I feel like I am getting a quality education.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I think a lot of housing is a bit of a walk for those without cars, especially in the cold weather. But they are well maintained and the rules are respected.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love BYU-Idaho! I believe it still has some things to work on but overall it is a very good school. I feel safe, accepted, and worthwhile here.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports here are different than most colleges. There are intramural and competitive teams, but our school doesn't play any other schools.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Going to school here is great! I think that I am receiving an amazing education, while also balancing the workload with social activities. I have the opportunity to be around good influences and to learn more about my religion as well.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: My favorite class so far was psychology of effective living with sister anderson. It was a fun atmosphere and I learned a lot of thing I can use for myself.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Not much of that happens here

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: Rexburg housing is the best

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel very safe while at school. Everyone generally has the same values and there are security services there to help if no one feels safe. I wasn't worried about any safety issues while there.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I loved my experience at BYUI. The courses are great, the professors really want you to succeed and care about you, and the class sizes are smaller than larger universities. This is a great school!

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The prospect of getting a degree from this school I would say is better than average. We focus on getting internships for graduation and there are opportunities for employment.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There are so many different options for housing which makes it easy for someone to choose the best fit for them and have the option of moving around and trying out different apartments.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: There could be more varsity sports but that is hard to do at BYUI. Intramurals that are there are great and there are several ways to become involved in them.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: BYU Idaho is a one of a kind school. I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the campus and the genuine kindness of the students and faculty. I recommend this school to anyone.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: BYU-Idaho is great for people who don't want to live in a big city, but still get an amazing education.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love my school, everyone is really friendly, they have off campus student housing which is really fun to live in with Friends. The teachers are very helpful and are always want their students to succeed.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: We have some problems, but not a lot.

3 College Student

Athletics: My school doesn't have an athletic program so we can't do anything

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: It has frustrating times, but overall I enjoy it.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: It is a private religious school, so while there are no members the over arching majority is lds

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: There are many chances to be sociable and get to know new people. Also, the learning setting is professional.

1 College Senior

Athletics: My school doesn't have an athletic program

3 College Junior

Diversity: It is a private religious school, so while there are non members the over arching majority is lds. There is tons of people from all over the world though. 25% of my degree is Hispanic, and there are basically many people from South America, Africa, and Asia. There are a few Europeans, but less that the other places. If you want to meet international people though this is the school to be at!

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: BYUI is a great learning environment combining spiritual learning with learning the things of the world, and seeing how they go hand in hand!

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
